How does a Fixed Operations Manager typically collaborate with other departments within a dealership?

A Fixed Operations Manager works closely with the service, parts, and sometimes body shop departments to ensure smooth workflows and consistent customer satisfaction. Regular meetings and clear communication with department heads are common, facilitating unified goals and addressing operational challenges. This collaborative approach helps maximize efficiency, drive profitability, and support overall dealership success.

What is a Fixed Operations Manager?

A Fixed Operations Manager oversees the service, parts, and sometimes the body shop departments in an automotive dealership. Their primary responsibilities include managing daily operations, ensuring high customer satisfaction, increasing profitability, and maintaining efficient workflow in these departments. They work closely with service advisors, technicians, and parts staff to coordinate repairs, maintenance, and parts sales. Effective Fixed Operations Managers also focus on staff training, process improvement, and meeting performance targets for the dealership.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Fixed Operations Manager, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Fixed Operations Manager, you need a solid background in automotive service operations, inventory management, and customer service, typically supported by experience in dealership environments and sometimes a degree in business or automotive management. Leadership, problem-solving, and strong communication skills help motivate teams and ensure customer satisfaction. These skills are essential for optimizing service department efficiency, driving revenue growth, and maintaining high customer loyalty in a competitive market.

Warehouse Operations Manager

True Classic

Dallas, TX โ€ข On-site

Full-time

Job description

True Classic is hiring a Warehouse Operations Manager to be our eyes, ears, and voice on the ground in Dallas. This is not a coordinator role. We need a floor-level operator with leadership instincts - someone who has worked the warehouse, not just managed paperwork around it. You'll bridge the gap between our internal teams and our 4PL partner, provide real-time operational intelligence, and turn chaos into calm by ensuring kitting, bundling, POG (planogram) buildouts, transfer orders, and freight ship on time - every time.
Our Dallas DFW14 facility and Hub are the nerve center for three high-velocity business channels - Costco and Sam's Club Roadshows, Costco and Sam's Club Inline Wholesale, and DTC Returns / Reverse Logistics - all operated through a 4PL partnership. Today, our team manages these programs remotely, which creates communication gaps, delayed visibility into floor-level activity, and reactive firefighting instead of proactive operations management.
All of True Classic's roles are global and omni-channel, leading designated areas of accountability across all product categories, countries, and sales and marketing channels. This role will have impact across DTC, retail, wholesale, marketplaces, and emerging channels, ensuring strategic alignment and executional rigor across the enterprise.
Areas of Accountability
On-Site Operations Oversight
  • Serve as True Classic's primary on-the-ground presence at ShipBob DFW14 and the Hub, providing daily visibility into kitting, bundling, POG (planogram) buildouts, pallet staging, and outbound freight readiness.
  • Conduct physical spot-checks on inventory accuracy, carton labeling, product quality, and order completeness before shipments leave the facility.
  • Monitor and escalate exceptions in real time - orders on hold, kitting delays, mislabeled cartons, missing inventory - before they cascade downstream.

Cross-Channel Coordination - 50% of your time
  • Roadshows - Work alongside the Roadshow team to ensure POG buildouts, and outbound TOs are completed and picked up on schedule, enabling LTL over costlier FTL shipments.
  • Inline Wholesale - Partner with the Inline Wholesale team to oversee EDI order fulfillment, kitting order execution, pallet wrapping/labeling, and timely carrier pickups for Costco and Sam's Club DC deliveries.
  • DTC Returns & Reverse Logistics - Coordinate with the Returns team on DTC return receiving, quality grading, restock vs. donate/dispose sorting, assembly unbuilds, and transfer orders back to primary fulfillment centers.

Communication & Reporting - 30% of your time
  • Deliver a daily end-of-day status summary covering every active workstream - what shipped, what's in progress, what's blocked, and what's coming tomorrow.
  • Translate floor-level realities up to leadership with precision. You are the communication bridge between True Classic's Warehousing & Inventory Management team and ShipBob's on-site staff.
  • Flag inventory discrepancies between NetSuite and ShipBob WMS with supporting evidence (photos, counts, system screenshots) to accelerate reconciliation.

Process Improvement & Scaling - 20% of your time
  • Identify recurring operational breakdowns (mislabeled cartons, receiving delays, kitting errors) and build SOPs to prevent recurrence - not just flag problems, but fix the system.
  • Advocate for and verify SLA compliance from the 4PL partner on receiving timelines, cycle count accuracy, and shipment readiness.
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of hands-on warehouse operations experience across multiple functions (receiving, fulfillment, inventory, kitting/assembly, outbound freight). Not a specialist - a generalist who understands the full operation.
  • Background in wholesale/retail compliance - EDI, routing guides, retailer-specific pallet and labeling requirements (Costco, Sam's Club).
  • Scaling experience - you've been part of growing an operation, not just maintaining one. You know what breaks under volume and you've fixed it.
  • Leadership presence - people follow you because they want to (charisma) or because they have to (intensity). Either way, you set the standard on the floor and others rise to it.
  • Clear, precise communication - you can translate warehouse floor realities up to leadership quickly and accurately. Written communication matters as much as verbal in this role.
  • Comfort holding external partners accountable to timelines and quality standards without damaging the relationship.
  • Demonstrated tenure - you've stayed long enough at previous organizations to see the results of your work. We value people who build, not job-hoppers.
  • Must reside in the greater Dallas / Fort Worth metro area.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in a 3PL/4PL environment (ShipBob, Stord, or similar WMS platforms).
  • Working knowledge of NetSuite or comparable ERP (inventory modules, transfer orders, work orders).
  • Exposure to reverse logistics workflows (RMA processing, grading, disposition).
Workplace Arrangement
Hybrid - 4 days per week onsite at the DFW warehouse and 1 day WFH. During peak season, the expectation will shift to 5 days onsite at the DFW warehouse.
Compensation
Compensation
  • $31-$36/hour
