Job description:

Recruiter – Staffing Agency

Job Type: Full-Time
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8 hours per day

Overview

We are seeking a motivated and results-driven Recruiter to join our staffing team. This position will focus primarily on recruiting and placing candidates within light industrial, manufacturing, warehouse, distribution, logistics, and related environments.

The ideal candidate is comfortable working in a fast-paced staffing environment, managing multiple open positions, communicating with a high volume of candidates, and quickly adjusting recruiting efforts based on client needs. This individual will be responsible for supporting the full recruitment cycle, from sourcing and screening through onboarding and placement, while maintaining a positive experience for both candidates and clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage full-cycle recruiting for temporary, temp-to-hire, and direct-hire positions based on client staffing needs.
  • Recruit for positions within light industrial, manufacturing, warehouse, distribution, logistics, and similar industries.
  • Source qualified candidates through Indeed, job boards, social media, referrals, internal databases, community outreach, and other recruiting channels.
  • Review applications and resumes to identify candidates who meet job-specific experience, schedule, pay, location, and qualification requirements.
  • Conduct phone and in-person interviews to evaluate candidate experience, reliability, communication skills, availability, and overall job fit.
  • Maintain a consistent pipeline of qualified candidates for frequently requested and high-volume positions.
  • Proactively contact previous applicants, former employees, referrals, and passive candidates regarding current employment opportunities.
  • Present job opportunities clearly to candidates, including job duties, work environment, schedule, compensation, assignment expectations, and client requirements.
  • Coordinate interviews, start dates, orientations, background screenings, drug testing, and other pre-employment requirements when applicable.
  • Complete and maintain accurate candidate documentation within the Applicant Tracking System (ATS).
  • Ensure all required onboarding and employment documentation is completed prior to placement.
  • Communicate regularly with account managers, onsite teams, and leadership regarding recruiting progress, candidate availability, challenges, and market conditions.
  • Respond quickly to urgent client staffing requests and help meet established recruiting and placement deadlines.
  • Maintain regular communication with candidates throughout the hiring and onboarding process to reduce fall-off and improve first-day attendance.
  • Conduct candidate follow-ups and check-ins as needed after placement.
  • Assist with reassigning available employees when assignments end or client workforce needs change.
  • Maintain confidentiality and follow company procedures related to employment eligibility, background screening, candidate records, and employment compliance.
  • Follow applicable federal, state, and local employment laws and company hiring policies.
  • Participate in recruiting events, job fairs, community outreach, and other talent attraction initiatives as needed.
  • Maintain recruiting activity, candidate pipeline, interview, placement, and fill-rate information for reporting purposes.

Qualifications

  • Previous recruiting, staffing, human resources, customer service, sales, or high-volume hiring experience preferred.
  • Staffing agency experience is highly preferred, particularly within light industrial, manufacturing, warehouse, logistics, or distribution environments.
  • Ability to manage multiple job orders and candidate pipelines simultaneously.
  • Strong sense of urgency and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Comfortable making a high volume of outbound recruiting calls, texts, and candidate follow-ups throughout the day.
  • Strong interviewing and candidate assessment skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to build rapport quickly with candidates from a variety of professional and cultural backgrounds.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience working with Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) and online recruiting platforms such as Indeed or similar systems preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, email, and general computer applications.
