Salary Range: $22.61-$34.48/hour
Work Location: 6750 Eastwood Trafficway
Normal Work Days/Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.

Responsibilities

What You'll Do:

  • Creates and submits claims to insurance companies and patients.
  • Verifies patient insurance coverage and eligibility.
  • Monitors claim status, investigate denials, and perform timely appeals.
  • Posts payments, reconcile accounts, and generate patient statements.
  • Communicates with patients, providers, and insurance representatives regarding billing issues and pre-authorizations
  • Utilizes ability to interpret ambulance patient care reports (ePCR), and understanding of healthcare privacy regulations, including HIPAA.
Qualifications

REQUIRES:

  • High school graduation or GED
  • 4 years of public or private sector experience in Medical and Medicaid Medical Billing
  • OR 4 years of customer service experience.
  • May be required to obtain a Coding Specialist Certificate or an Ambulance Coder Certification

If appointed, non-residents must obtain residency inside Kansas City, Missouri's city limits within nine months.
