Job description

POSITION SUMMARY:
Responsible for providing leadership and guidance to the financial systems functions; including application support, project management, business process/systems analysis and development, upgrades evaluation and testing, bug fixes, issue management, vendor management and report development associated with CDP’s Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software (Yardi) and related systems. Accountable for ensuring that the alignment of information technology and business requirements, to implement and support financial systems that support current and future business needs. Provide leadership and direction to a team that supports financial applications, including training to enable team to develop professionally.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Provide leadership and direction in the administration of financial systems, to enable improvements to existing systems or implementation of new systems that better meet business requirements.
  • Overall responsibility for ongoing maintenance and application support (e.g., role-based security, workflow management, issue resolution, etc.).
  • Manage the process of testing relevant system enhancements, changes and periodic upgrades.
  • Partner with Sr, Project Manager, IT and business management to successfully deliver necessary, efficient, well-developed, and accurate system projects.
  • Manage the process to evaluate requests from internal and external parties for system enhancements (e.g., attributes, functionality, etc.) and to respond / execute accordingly.
  • Oversee training on financial applications.
  • Direct and manage financial systems staff to create a supportive team-oriented work environment that enables team members to develop professionally, promotes teamwork and collaboration, and emphasizes quality, customer satisfaction, and cost/time effectiveness.
  • Responsible for staff management including recruitment, hiring, supervision, disciplinary action, recognition, salary administration performance appraisals and terminations.
  • Develop and train staff to ensure optimum skill levels and technical competence.
  • Manage the development, enhancement, and maintenance of ad-hoc reports and other data presentations to meet current and future business requirements.
  • Develop and maintain SOX, process, technical and / or project documentation associated with financial systems.
  • Manage performance of financial systems key controls and requests from audit teams, to ensure necessary data is provided in a timely fashion.
  • Review existing assigned controls and reports for continued relevance and for possible improvements and efficiencies.
  • As needed, manage the development of controls related to functionality, changes in processes and new applications associated with financial systems.
  • Perform assigned IT general controls, including security review and protocols.
  • Manage activities to develop and strengthen relationships with strategic financial systems vendors.
  • Participate in evaluations of vendor services, etc.


SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Participate in strategic financial system planning sessions providing project, systems, and process expertise to inform roadmap, prioritization, and sequencing decisions.
  • Support project‑level budget planning, tracking, and forecasting activities.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education -

  • Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or Information Systems Management.
  • CPA Preferred.

Professional Experience -

  • 8 years in development, implementation and maintenance of multiple financial systems.
  • 3+ years of Yardi system administration.
  • Progressive experience in accounting and information.
  • Supervision or project management.

Computer Skills -

  • Experience administering Blackline, Docusign, Argus and Kahua preferred.
  • Experience with KACE ticket management, OKTA/SSO and Management Studio preferred.
  • Ability to effectively use Microsoft Office tools, including intermediate or higher skills in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc. and ability to learn new company specific software.

Mobility - Occasional travel may be required.

  • Knowledge of various Accounting rules and requirements. Knowledge of company organizational structure and business reporting/data needs. Familiarity with real estate business and REITS.

EQUIPMENT OPERATION - Standard office equipment including PC, telephone, copier, fax machine, printer, etc.

Pay Range: $125,000 - $150,000
