Job description

About the Role:

The Principal Financial Analyst will serve as a key finance partner to the Global Quality organization, providing accounting leadership, complex financial analysis, and decision support to the organization. This role is mainly responsible for budgeting, tracking, analysis, and audit support of global quality and regulatory functions and related initiatives.


Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Serve as key business partner to quality and regulatory functions, drive adherence to corporate targets and provide actionable recommendations.

  • Perform all aspects of the monthly financial close process including necessary journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, global project consolidation/reconciliation, variance/trend analysis

  • Prepare and present monthly financial reporting package and financial insight to GSC, quality, regulatory, and corporate finance leadership

  • Lead spend and headcount budgeting activities for global quality and regulatory functions and initiatives.

  • Support ad-hoc requests and projects when necessary.

  • Support value improvement program for the function by providing finance expertise to estimate and validate savings assumptions.

  • Drive continuous improvement within our financial processes to gain efficiency.

  • Utilize Hyperion, SAP, Tableau, and Excel to review, analyze, and reconcile data


Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field.

  • 5+ years Accounting/ Finance experience

  • Advanced Excel skills and comfort working with large data sets.

  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills are crucial. Able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to explain financial results to non-finance partners.

  • Detail-oriented with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.

  • Collaborative, proactive, and comfortable working with cross-functional teams.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with Hyperion

  • 7+ years of progressive experience in FP&A or a similar finance role

  • MBA or CPA (or progress toward certification)

  • Project accounting experience strongly preferred

  • Ability to influence business partners and drive process improvements.

  • Experience in a large, global, or matrixed organization. Background in medical device or life sciences industry is a plus.
