How much do final expense insurance agents make?

Final expense life insurance agents typically earn between $40,000 and $80,000 annually, with top performers making over $100,000. Income largely depends on sales skills, experience, commission rates, and the number of policies sold, as many agents work on a commission-based structure.

How much can you sell a $100,000 life insurance policy for?

As a Final Expense Life Insurance Agent, the sale price of a $100,000 policy depends on factors like the applicant's age, health, and underwriting guidelines. Typically, the premium paid is the cost of the policy, and agents earn commissions based on the premium amount, not a resale value. Policies are generally not sold for a profit but are purchased to provide coverage for beneficiaries.

What is a Final Expense Life Insurance Agent?

A Final Expense Life Insurance Agent is a licensed insurance professional who specializes in selling life insurance policies designed to cover end-of-life expenses, such as funeral and burial costs. These agents help clients, often seniors, find affordable policies that provide peace of mind for their loved ones. They educate clients about different policy options, assist with applications, and guide them through the purchasing process. Agents typically work for insurance agencies or as independent brokers representing multiple carriers.

Is selling final expense insurance a good career?

Final expense life insurance agents sell policies designed to cover end-of-life expenses, often working independently and earning commissions based on sales. Success in this field requires strong sales skills, product knowledge, and the ability to build client relationships, with many agents working flexible schedules. It can be a viable career for those interested in insurance sales and customer service, but income potential varies based on effort and market conditions.

How to become a final expense insurance agent?

To become a final expense life insurance agent, you typically need to complete state licensing requirements, which often include pre-licensing education and passing a licensing exam. Once licensed, agents usually undergo training on insurance products and sales techniques, and may need to obtain a certification or appointment with an insurance carrier. Strong communication skills and knowledge of insurance policies are essential for success in this role.
