NBC Sports Bay Area/California is a regional sports content creator with both linear television and digital platform distribution. Job Description

NBC Sports Bay Area, the broadcast home of the Golden State Warriors, San Francisco Giants, A’s, San Jose Sharks, and Sacramento Kings, is looking for a Program Intern to undertake a variety of administrative and program management tasks. You will help in planning our schedule, analyzing our viewership, and carrying out important operational duties. We are excited about the work we do, and we are looking for a Program Intern who is just as excited! 

To succeed as our program intern, you must be organized and detail-oriented, comfortable working with diverse teams. If you also are a self-starter who can juggle wide-ranging responsibilities and can proactively find ways to improve the company, we’d like to meet you.

The goal will be to facilitate the effective management of content according to the organization’s standards.

A snapshot of your responsibilities:

  • Tabulate, maintain, and analyze content performance metrics
  • Assist with cross-department communication regarding initiatives and analysis
  • Help organize and execute the delivery to audiences of over 500 live events per year
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • Must be actively enrolled in a degree-granting program at an accredited institution during the entire duration of the program (September 2026 through April 2027). December 2026 graduates are not eligible for this Academic Year Internship Program.
  • Current class standing of sophomore or above (30 credits).
  • Must be presently authorized to work for any employer in the United States and must not require work visa sponsorship from NBCUniversal now or in the future to retain authorization to work in the United States.
  • Must be available to work 16 to 24 hours per week from September 21, 2026 – April 23, 2027.
  • Must be willing to work in San Francisco, Californa.

Desired Characteristics

  • Students with a class standing of junior or above preferred.
  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above
  • Bilingual in Spanish strongly preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite (Windows Office, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel)
  • Knowledge of Bay Area sports (a plus)
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to maintain operational standards
  • Strong written, verbal, and proofreading skills.
  • Working knowledge of AI (a plus)
  • Ability to interface maturely with all levels of management and participate in strategic initiatives
  • Ability to work effectively under deadlines and extreme pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong work ethic, positive attitude, and multi-tasking abilities

Additional Requirements

  • Hybrid: This position has been designed as hybrid, generally contributing from the San Francisco office a minimum of three days per week. Our in-office days are Monday through Thursday.
