StevenDouglas has been engaged on a search for a client based in NY to join their team as an Senior Accountant in the Entertainment Industry!

Are you passionate about finance and the entertainment sector? We are seeking a talented and dedicated Senior Accountant to lead the financial operations within a dynamic and creative environment. This role offers a unique opportunity to leverage your accounting expertise in the vibrant world of film distribution, working alongside a collaborative and innovative team.


What Youโ€™ll Do:

  • Manage daily accounting functions, including accounts payable/receivable, general ledger, bank reconciliations and Month End Close
  • Oversee revenue recognition, distribution fee accounting, and royalty/participant statement preparation.
  • Maintain accurate and current records using QuickBooks Online and Expense Management system.
  • Collaborate with distribution, marketing, and licensing teams to track financial deal details.
  • Manage relationships with tax professionals and banking partners to ensure compliance and operational efficiency.


Required Skills:

  • 4+ years of accounting experience, with a strong preference for candidates with background in entertainment, media, or distribution.
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks Online.
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA certification is a plus.
  • In-depth understanding of revenue recognition, especially regarding licensing and distribution deals.
  • Excellent organizational skills with keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently in a flexible hybrid work environment.


Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • 4+ years of professional accounting experience, ideally within the media, entertainment, or film distribution fields.
