Job description

American Welding and Gas, Inc. has an immediate opening for a Fill Plant Operator at our gas cylinder production/distribution facility in Indianapolis IN!

Position Summary:
This position will have the primary responsibility for the manufacturing of compressed gas and liquid products, which includes pre-fill inspection of cylinders, filling, labeling and analysis or quarantine of cylinders prior to release for shipment. In this role, the ideal candidate must also move and store cylinders and may load/unload cylinders for transport.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Read, understand, and follow all Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's).
  • Ensure manifold meets required specifications (daily).
  • Ensure all cylinder’s pass required pre-fill inspections prior to filling.
  • Fill cylinders as outlined in the SOP.
  • Move compressed gas or liquid cylinders.
  • Correctly label cylinders.
  • Ensure completion and accuracy of paperwork.
  • Ensure compliance with cGMP, HazMat, OSHA, and other regulatory agencies.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Education Requirements:
  • High school diploma/GED.
  • Able to read and write English.
  • Able to read and interpret gauges and analog dials.
  • Able to move compressed gas and liquid cylinders.
  • Forklift skills and experience a plus.
  • Ability to lift 75-100 lbs.
  • Must be detail-oriented, flexible and work well with other people.
  • Ability to perform duties in a safety-conscious manner with minimal supervision.
