Job Description

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Filing Specialist to join our growing Workers’ Compensation Department. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys supporting and mentoring others, maintaining organized workflows, and helping teams stay compliant and efficient in a fast-paced legal environment.

The Senior Filing Specialist will serve as a lead resource for the filing team, providing day-to-day guidance, answering questions, auditing workflows, and ensuring filing procedures are completed accurately and consistently.

Key Responsibilities

Team Support & Mentorship

  • Serve as the primary support resource for Filing Specialists and administrative staff.
  • Answer day-to-day case and workflow questions while guiding staff through filing procedures and case-related issues.
  • Mentor team members on best practices, quality standards, and case management processes.
  • Assist with training for new staff and ongoing training for existing staff.

Workflow & Compliance

  • Audit filing workflows and case management processes to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Ensure filings meet internal procedures and regulatory requirements.

Case Management & Collaboration

  • Collaborate with attorneys, paralegals, and support staff to resolve missing information or filing issues.
  • Support daily department operations and help maintain efficient team workflows.
  • Other related duties as assigned by the department Supervisor.
Qualifications

Qualifications

Experience

  • 1+ years of experience in a legal, insurance, or workers’ compensation environment preferred.
  • Prior leadership or mentoring experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience using case management software and Microsoft Office Suite preferred.

Skills

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Team-oriented mindset with a collaborative and supportive leadership style.
  • Ability to adapt to changing workflows and systems.

Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
