Reporting To: Matthew Evans
Compensation: $19.00 - $20.00 / hour
Description
The Field Service Technician will be responsible for transport, install (if applicable), and maintain equipment, replacement parts, tools, and other vending equipment in an organized and structured manner. This team is also responsible for shop rebuilding of vending & office coffee equipment.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Responsible for repairing and installing vending & office coffee equipment to promote continuous operation of the machines.
  • Transports equipment, installs replacement parts, and performs repairs using tools and other vending equipment at various accounts/locations throughout Detroit and surrounding areas using a company vehicle.
  • Troubleshoot to restore malfunctioning machine to working order in the field.
  • May include swapping failed equipment, cleaning and/or minor adjusting of the malfunctioning component of the machine.
  • Communicate effectively and efficiently with Dispatchers and clients Will run electrical wire and plumbing tubes as needed.
  • Responds promptly to customer needs/requests with the goal ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Supports a service-oriented environment that leads others to improve their service actions.
  • Maintains positive and enthusiastic attitude with co-workers and customers.
  • Follows through with action when a customer makes a special request or asks questions.
  • Continuously seeks to exceed customer expectations and anticipates their needs ahead of time.
  • Additional projects and assignments as needed.

Job Requirements
  • High-School Diploma or GED Technical experience as it relates to vending and coffee machines
  • Experience with small machine and/or vending repairs.
  • Basic electrical, plumbing, refrigeration, HVAC, and electronics repair experience and/or education is required.
  • Ability to work independently, stay focused and motivated, and manage time appropriately to get work completed on time.
  • Comfortable working in a wide range of environments such as plants, hospitals, schools or corporate buildings.
  • Displays a positive attitude with co-workers and customers.
  • Responds promptly to customer needs/requests with the goal of ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Lifts from 75-100 lbs regularly and will use various hand tools to complete installation and perform maintenance.
  • Experience in the vending field is preferred.
  • Experience driving commercial vehicles is preferred.
  • Willing to collaborate with others and ask for help when needed.
  • Willingness to learn about new machines, technologies and repair techniques.
  • Valid and clean driver's license.
  • Detail oriented, diplomatic, and comfortable working in structured environments.
  • Able to meet the physical demands of the role which includes frequent lifting, standing, stooping, crouching, climbing, and walking for extended periods of time.
  • Must be comfortable working and driving in extreme weather conditions.
