Job description

Job Title: Field Merchandiser
Department: Marketing
Reports To: Senior Category Manager
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Position Summary
The Field Merchandiser is responsible for executing and maintaining consistent merchandising standards across all retail locations. This role serves as a key liaison between store teams and the Marketing Department, ensuring effective implementation of merchandising programs, planograms, pricing accuracy, inventory management, and promotional initiatives.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Serve as the primary liaison between retail staff and the Marketing Department.
  • Collaborate with store teams to support reconciliation processes, inventory accuracy, and stock management.
  • Partner with store leadership to ensure optimal in-stock levels and timely replenishment across all categories.
  • Support pricing execution by ensuring accurate price changes, promotional signage, and system alignment.
  • Implement new floor layouts and assemble merchandising fixtures.
  • Assist with installation of indoor and outdoor signage.
  • Coordinate and lead store resets to ensure alignment with company standards.
  • Order and merchandise products across all categories.
  • Coordinate and execute merchandising plans for new store openings.
  • Ensure proper implementation of the bi-monthly profit planner.
  • Maintain compliance with merchandising floor plans and category-specific planograms in all stores.
  • Execute merchandising initiatives as directed by the Marketing Department.
  • Submit weekly store visit reports to Category Managers, including updates on inventory, pricing, and merchandising compliance.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Vice President of Marketing.

Qualifications
  • College education is preferred but not required.
  • Demonstrated retail experience required.
  • Strong knowledge of retail merchandising principles, inventory control, and pricing execution.
  • Ability to train store management on floor plans, planograms, inventory best practices, and pricing standards.
  • Professional demeanor and presentation.
  • Ability to travel to all retail locations, including overnight stays as needed.
  • Strong leadership competencies, including:
    • Open-minded thinking
    • Accountability and reliability
    • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
    • Strong organizational skills
    • Effective execution and follow-through


Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift, push, and/or pull up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
  • Ability to stand for an entire eight (8) hour shift.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, and move as necessary to stock and merchandise inventory.

Technical Skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and email.
  • Self-motivated, organized, and results-driven with a focus on performance improvement.
