Job Description
Job Title: Produce Merchandiser Department: Store Operations Supervisory
Reports To: Produce Director FLSA Classification: Exempt
SUMMARY
Supports the Produce Director with the execution, planning, and accountability of all produce merchandising, policies and training at store level with the Store Manager and Produce Department Manager. Provide technical assistance and support to the company's Store Managers and Produce Managers to ensure successful produce department operations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned .
Travels to assigned store locations to inspect produce facilities; receiving, storing, and displaying of product. Directly impacts the company's produce department operations policies and procedures by developing and revising policies and procedures when necessary. Evaluates competitors and consults with vendors and customers to be efficient in category management while offering suggestions to the Produce Director. Examines products bought for resale or received for storage.
Plans store visits and works directly with store management to provide technical assistance to the store managers in the company as follows: Oversee and ensure proper protocol is followed in the Produce Department; Direct, coordinate, & evaluate the Produce Department operations; Recruit, interview, and train produce department managers and Assist with preparation of the produce department managers' job performance review. Assist the produce department manager with planning, assigning, and directing work.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma, G.E.D., or continuing high school studies plus six months experience or training in produce. To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Certified Food Safety Manager or certification attained within one year of obtaining position. An approved Motor Vehicle Report. The company will order the report.
