Job description

Field Associate – College Campus Textbook & Apparel Store

The following is a general overview of duties expected of the Field Associate. Responsibilities may evolve to support the efficient operation and success of the store. Additional tasks may be assigned by management as necessary.

Compensation
Hourly Rate: $16.00/hour

Location: Houston Area

Key Responsibilities:

Store Maintenance & Operations

You will be responsible for maintaining a safe, clean, and organized environment for both staff and customers, ensuring the smooth operation of day-to-day activities.

  • Maintain Cleanliness & Safety:
    • Perform regular cleaning of the breakroom, ensuring a tidy and sanitary space.
    • Vacuum rugs and entry mats, as well as other designated areas.
    • Wipe down counters, sanitize door handles, and ensure workstations are clean and hygienic.
    • Clean and sanitize frequently used items, including phones, credit card machines, and signature pads.
    • Empty trash bins regularly and ensure the disposal of waste in designated areas.
  • Stocking & Organization:
    • Ensure the availability of shopping bags at all registers for customer convenience.
    • Refill receipt paper and barcode labels as needed at all workstations.
    • Organize and restock clothing returns and other merchandise, keeping displays neat and appealing.
    • Straighten and organize pick-up orders for easy customer collection.
    • Maintain orderliness of hangers and clothing racks.
    • Regularly clean store walkways using a Swiffer to maintain a clean shopping environment.

Event Support & Travel

This role requires the flexibility to travel between store locations and support pop-up events, ensuring proper execution from setup to breakdown.

  • Pop-up Events:
    • Travel between various campus locations and assist in setting up and breaking down merchandise displays for pop-up retail events.
    • Ensure all necessary merchandise, materials, and supplies are transported securely and in a timely manner to event locations.
    • Provide on-site assistance to create a seamless shopping experience for customers.

This position is critical in fostering a welcoming and efficient store environment that enhances the customer experience, contributing to the overall success of the campus store.
