Job description

POSITION SUMMARY
This position is responsible for the uninterrupted operation of Facility and Overnight Services at The Healing Place of
New Hanover County. This includes making hourly rounds, performing admissions, processing discharges, upholding
facility guidelines and responding to crisis situations at the facility.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential functions include but are not limited to the following:
โ€ข Follow approved policies and procedures to operate Facility and Overnight programs
โ€ข Perform hourly rounds throughout the entire facility
โ€ข Perform admissions and discharges in Facility and Overnight programs
โ€ข Observe and document client behavior
โ€ข Take, record, and report out vital signs as ordered by medical staff
โ€ข Hold clients, staff, and visitors accountable to the facility guidelines
โ€ข Document and make medications available for self-administration to clients when necessary
โ€ข Perform property contraband searches of clients and their belongings when necessary
โ€ข Administer preliminary drug screens to clients when necessary
โ€ข Document and report all incidents involving a safety hazard or violation of facility guidelines
โ€ข Act as first responder to emergency and medical situations within the facility
โ€ข Use crisis intervention skills to assist clients in de-escalating situations when necessary
โ€ข Ensure the facility is kept sanitary, clean and organized
โ€ข Ensure the safety of facility staff and clients, including addressing any situation that may present a possible
threat to any person within the facility
โ€ข Assist in the intake process, including preforming an initial assessment of client needs

QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS
โ€ข High School Diploma or Equivalency required
โ€ข Must be CPR certified (within 90 days of onboarding)
โ€ข Working knowledge in Microsoft Office (especially Outlook, Excel and Word) preferred
โ€ข Must be able to spend extended periods of time on your feet (walking, standing)
โ€ข Ability to project a professional image
โ€ข Must be able to lift 50lbs. on occasion
โ€ข Valid Driver's License required
