Job description

INVESTOR RELATIONS MANAGER

We are looking for an exceptional investor relations manager to serve as a strategic partner to the Head of Investor Relations and CFO and assist in the day-to-day execution of our IR activities with a particular focus on retail shareholders. This position reports to the Head of Investor Relations and involves collaboration with the broad finance, legal, events and communications teams.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Retail Investor Strategy and Engagement: Create and lead the company's retail investor relations strategy, defining the function and operating model while establishing industry-leading practices. Build scalable engagement with a large, diverse retail investor audience across digital, social, and emerging platforms, with a strong presence on X and other real-time channels.
  • Investor Relations Materials Development: Help develop strategic position of  investor relations materials releases, corporate updates, 8K disclosures, social media copy to support disclosures, investor days, roadshows, and shareholder meetings, with a strong focus on retail accessibility and engagement. Partner cross-functionally with finance, legal and marketing to ensure disclosures are accurate, consistent and aligned with the company's narrative and shareholder engagement objectives.
  • Strategic Capital Markets Advisory: Partner with the Head of Investor Relations to develop long-term shareholder engagement strategies, shape external capital markets messaging, evaluate investor feedback and advise on disclosure considerations related to significant business developments.
  • Investor Relations Calendar & Event Management Support: Lead the execution of the company's investor relations engagement strategy across conferences, site visits, launch events, tour of all facilities protocols and planning, annual shareholder meeting, develop executive speaker prep and calendar for President, CFO, Head of Finance. Provide strategic oversight of event planning in collaboration with events and hospitality teams and supporting resources. Liaison to C Suite for all IR related event management and execution.
  • Cross-Functional Leadership and Growth: Advise on shareholder communications, capital markets messaging and significant corporate developments and serve as official comms and marketing team liaison to ensure connectivity, alignment and amplification of all investor relations key messages for broad audiences. Take on additional strategic projects across communications function to continuously align IR disclosures and communications with broader comms strategy. Lead digital strategy development for IR in tandem with comms leadership. Act as lead partner to internal communications for investor relations and develop a comms plan therein.
  • Investor Relations Operations and Surveillance: Manage the operations for IR and manage all external vendors. Set-up protocols for traditional media, social platforms, retail investor forums, and market commentary monitoring to track sentiment, engagement trends, and emerging narratives. Develop reporting methods to quantify retail investor engagement and sentiment shifts. Provide regular insights to leadership on retail investor perceptions, risks, and opportunities. Maintain IR inbox protocols and Grok functionality - utilize X and Grok exclusively for retail shareholder engagement.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • 6+ years of experience in finance or investment banking/asset management.

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Master's in Business Administration.
  • Chartered Financial Analyst.
  • Strong financial acumen, with the ability to analyze financial statements, market research, and sell-side models.
  • Deep understanding of social media dynamics, digital engagement, and real-time market sentiment.
  • Creative, bold communicator who is comfortable taking calculated risks and challenging traditional IR approaches.
  • Strong presence and credibility with both institutional and retail investors, including non-traditional market participants.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Willing to work extended hours and weekends as needed.
  • This position is based in Hawthorne, CA (Los Angeles area), and requires being onsite full-time - hybrid and remote work will not be considered.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:      

Pay range:      

Investor Relations Manager: $135,000.00 - $185,000.00/per year           

Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.

Base salary is just one part of your total rewards package at SpaceX.
