What would you be doing as the Public Relations Coordinator?

The Public Relations Coordinator works closely with the Public Relations Manager to support the execution of day-to-day external communications that promote Boironโ€™s corporate brand and product portfolio. This role supports public relations efforts through media outreach coordination across print, broadcast, digital, podcast, and related channels. The Public Relations Coordinator is also responsible for routine departmental activities, including media monitoring, prospect research, database and list management, mailings, and product fulfillment.


But what does this job really do...?

  • Supports the development of relationships with media representatives to help secure product coverage in consumer, trade, and medical magazines, newspapers, television, web, radio, and podcast outlets.
  • Facilitates general press inquiries and supports proactive media outreach by assisting with pitching efforts, media monitoring services, and pitching events under the direction of the PR Manager and/or Vice President of Public Relations.
  • Researches media coverage, industry trends, and story opportunities to support the development of creative pitching ideas for consumer, medical, trade, and digital outlets.
  • Utilizes AI-assisted tools to support writing, editing, research, media list development, and planning activities, while following established brand, editorial, and regulatory guidelines.
  • Assists with initiatives involving external public relations agencies, including coordinating materials, tracking deliverables, timelines, and supporting media and PR activations as needed.
  • Assists in the planning and coordination of special events, including placing product orders, coordinating shipments, and supporting event staffing.
  • Supports television and radio co-op and satellite media tours, syndicated articles, wire releases, and other media initiatives in coordination with external vendors and agency partners.
  • Represents Boiron at press, industry, and consumer events as needed.
  • Coordinates media outreach activities, including preparation and distribution of press releases and media kits, email outreach, live pitches, written trade press interviews, development of spokesperson briefing materials, coordination of spokesperson schedules, and maintenance of the online pressroom.
  • Performs administrative and coordination duties including managing press, influencer, and partnership mailings; fulfilling product requests for media, influencers, partners, vendors, and sampling programs; creating and maintaining media lists using online databases and spreadsheets; contributing to the departmental editorial calendar; monitoring news and online media daily to track, distribute, and archive coverage; compiling media highlights and preparing media and campaign reports; contributing to department presentations; and supporting cross-department initiatives as needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


You would be a great fit if you have the following...

  • Education: B.A. in Journalism, Public Relations, Communications or related field.
  • Experience: 2+ years serving in professional Communications or Public Relations capacity.
  • Proficiency with AP Stylebook and/or AMA Manual of Style. Experience with consumer or medical communications a plus.
  • Demonstrate excellent writing, editing and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail and demonstrated commitment to quality.
  • Ability to successfully manage and prioritize multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Self-motivated with an ability to work independently, as well as be an effective team player with a flexible, collaborative attitude.
  • Proficiency in use of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Proficiency in use of traditional media monitoring platforms and databases (Cision, High Rise etc.).
  • Ability to travel domestically or internationally. Travel may include up to 3-4 times a year.
