We love to innovate and thrive to manufacture and deliver performing bakery products and world-class customer service.
With over 100 years of service to the baking industry, BakeMark is recognized as an industry leader and trusted partner for quality bakery ingredients, products, supplies and service. BakeMark is a manufacturer and distributor with 23 branches conveniently-located across the U.S.
At BakeMark we appreciate our employees and their families and offer a competitive pay and a full suite of benefits:
  • Competitive Compensation
  • Health, Dental, Vision & Life Insurance (Comprehensive healthcare benefits package, with many coverage options at a very low employee cost)
  • 401K (generous retirement benefits) with a Company Match
  • Paid Holidays and Paid Time Off

Summary: BakeMark's Export business serves customers across the Middle East, Europe, Asia, Latin America, and the Caribbean, with shipments originating from Pico Rivera, other BakeMark locations, and overseas dropship vendors. The Export Supervisor leads the Export Customer Service Team and owns the end-to-end administrative execution of every export order - from customer PO through documentation, fumigation, loading, and final invoicing.
This is a hands-on supervisory role. You will manage the Export CSR team while working orders directly alongside them, interfacing daily with customers, the Export sales team, warehouse operations, production, freight forwarders, and government agencies.
What You'll Own
  • Direct communication with international customers; receive and enter orders in NDS, including contract pricing
  • Issue proformas, manage prepay confirmations, and coordinate order release
  • Own all export documentation: commercial invoices, packing lists, BOLs, Certificates of Freesale, USMCA Certificates of Origin, FDA Prior Notice filings, and country-specific requirements
  • Ensure product is properly labeled for each destination, including translated labels and date-code formats
  • Stay current on export regulations and coordinate with Quality, Production, and Procurement to maintain compliance
  • Verify product availability, freight pickups, and ensure container loading photos are captured for every shipment
  • Manage shipments originating from other BakeMark locations where documentation flows through Pico
  • Own the drop shipment workflow with overseas vendors
  • Resolve customer issues with BakeMark's long-term interest as the focus
  • Supervise and develop the Export CSR team; build customer profiles and cross-training so the team can cover every account during absences

What We're Looking For
This role requires critical thinking and higher-level decision-making. The right candidate is a self-starter who anticipates issues before they occur and develops solutions quickly, operating with minimal supervision.
Required
  • 5+ years in international export operations, preferably in food, ingredients, or regulated CPG
  • Working knowledge of U.S. export documentation and regulatory frameworks (FDA, USDA, USMCA)
  • Direct experience entering and maintaining contract pricing in an ERP/order-management system
  • Strong Excel skills - the role involves building customer-specific invoices, proformas, and customs documentation outside standard system outputs
  • Supervisory experience or clear readiness to step into one
  • Excellent written communication for customer relationships across language and time-zone barriers

Strongly Preferred
  • Notary commission, or willingness to become one (BakeMark covers certification)
  • Experience with ocean freight booking, BOL preparation, and freight-forwarder coordination
  • Familiarity with destination-specific documentation for the Middle East, EU, UK, Latin America, or Asia
  • Multi-currency invoicing experience
  • Foreign language (any)
