Job description

Position Summary
The NVOCC & Customs Compliance Specialist will be responsible for supporting PGS360's FMC-licensed NVOCC and ocean freight forwarding activities while helping establish and maintain customs brokerage capabilities and regulatory compliance programs. This is a ground-floor opportunity to grow with PGS360's expanding international trade division, with a clear path toward increased responsibility and leadership as the operation scales.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as or support the Qualifying Individual (QI) for PGS360's FMC OTI license (NVOCC and Ocean Freight Forwarder)
  • Maintain bonds, tariffs, licenses, and regulatory filings with the FMC and CBP
  • Prepare and submit AMS, ISF, and customs entry filings accurately and on time
  • Support customs brokerage licensing and CBP compliance initiatives
  • Coordinate ocean import and export operations across assigned trade lanes
  • Manage carrier and overseas agent relationships
  • Develop and implement operational SOPs for NVOCC and freight forwarding workflows
  • Support pricing, rate quotes, and solution development for ocean freight accounts

Qualifications
Required:

  • Active Licensed Customs Broker (LCB) — candidates without an LCB will not be considered
  • Eligible to serve as a Qualifying Individual (QI) for an FMC-licensed NVOCC and/or Ocean Freight Forwarder
  • 1–4 years of experience in NVOCC operations, ocean freight forwarding, or customs brokerage
  • Working knowledge of FMC regulations and OTI compliance requirements
  • Familiarity with AMS, ISF, and ocean import/export documentation

Preferred:

  • Prior experience serving as QI for an FMC-licensed NVOCC
  • Experience at a freight forwarder, NVO, or customs brokerage firm
  • Familiarity with CTPAT or other trade security compliance programs
  • Existing carrier or overseas agent relationships
