Job description

Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Freight Forwarding Specialist with a strong Air Import background to support a fast-paced international logistics operation in South San Francisco, CA. This temp-to-hire opportunity is ideal for a detail-oriented freight forwarding professional who enjoys coordinating global shipments, solving logistics challenges, and delivering excellent customer service.
In this role, you will manage air import shipments from origin through final delivery while working closely with airlines, customs brokers, carriers, warehouses, overseas agents, and customers. The position offers the chance to contribute to a collaborative logistics team where accuracy, communication, teamwork, and proactive problem-solving are highly valued. Candidates with recent Air Import Freight Forwarding experience and hands-on CargoWise skills will be well positioned for success.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and manage international air import shipments from booking through final delivery.
- Prepare, process, and maintain accurate air import documentation in compliance with international trade regulations.
- Track and trace shipments, update milestones in CargoWise, and provide proactive customer updates.
- Communicate with airlines, customs brokers, warehouses, trucking companies, CFS facilities, freight terminals, and overseas agents to ensure timely shipment movement.
- Resolve shipment delays, customs issues, billing discrepancies, vendor invoice concerns, and customer payment issues.
- Prepare freight quotations, support rate development, generate customer reports, and maintain accurate shipment records.
Compensation and Benefits
- Pay range: $25.00 to $27.00 per hour.
