ReadyCT is looking for an organized, operationally savvy professional who enjoys building the systems that make a mission possible. By managing critical financial, administrative, and compliance structures of our youth-serving initiatives, you’ll ensure things run smoothly behind the scenes so that every student can focus on a seamless, high-quality launch into the professional world.

WHO WE ARE:

ReadyCT is a statewide 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization committed to helping Connecticut public school students succeed academically and explore meaningful career pathways. We create and manage innovative career‑connected learning programs that link students, schools, and employers across the state.

As an affiliate of the Connecticut Business & Industry Association (CBIA), ReadyCT works closely with business leaders to expand real‑world opportunities for students and strengthen Connecticut’s future workforce.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

This role is a great fit for someone who enjoys being the organizational “hub” — keeping programs on track, supporting compliance and financial processes, and helping teams work efficiently. You’ll play a key role in supporting high school internship programs, coordinating org-wide operational details, and maintaining the systems that help ReadyCT create efficiencies to advance the work!

For someone with strong operational and financial experience, this role also offers room to grow, with opportunities to take on additional leadership responsibilities over time.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE ROLE:

  • Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in business or accounting, and a background delivering high-level audit and tax solutions; a Master’s degree and CPA designation are preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills: Comfort managing multiple projects, timelines, and administrative processes.
  • Budget & grant support experience: Experience helping build program budgets and tracking expenses to support grant requirements.
  • Attention to detail: Ability to manage data, documentation, and logistics such as payroll, employee onboarding, and reporting to funders/partners.
  • Collaborative approach: Enjoys working with colleagues and external partners to keep programs running smoothly.
  • Clear communication: Can explain financial or compliance information in a clear, practical way.
  • Interest in growth: Curious, adaptable, and open to learning and taking on new responsibilities.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Occasional travel within Connecticut for meetings or events.
  • Familiarity with accounting and/or HR systems (e.g., Quick Books and Sparkhire Recruiting), Google Workspace, and Microsoft Office.
  • Experience with Jira or other Atlassian tools is helpful but not required.
  • Ability to balance strategic thinking with day-to-day operational needs.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

Program & Compliance Oversight:

  • Manage the internship hiring processes throughout the year, working closely with the program team.
  • Coordinate payroll, reimbursements, and reporting related to youth employment programs.
  • Monitor compliance with federal and state program requirements, as detailed in contracts and grant agreements.
  • Serve as a point of contact for program documentation and compliance support.

Financial Monitoring & Budget Tracking:

  • Develop and update program budgets.
  • Track expenses and facilitate discussions with program leads to help ensure spending stays aligned with program budgets and grant requirements.
  • Monitor compliance with federal and state program requirements.
  • Prepare clear, regular financial updates for internal teams and leadership, and other stakeholders as may be needed.

Operations & Team Support:

  • Coordinate contractors, seasonal staff, and internal resources as needed, to ensure programmatic and operational success.
  • Help improve and streamline administrative processes across the organization.
  • Provide general operational and financial support to keep the organization running smoothly.

This description reflects the primary responsibilities of the role; all ReadyCT team members may assist with additional duties as may be required.

WHY JOIN READYCT:

ReadyCT offers a competitive salary, comprehensive benefits, generous paid time off, and meaningful opportunities for professional growth. Most importantly, you’ll be part of a mission‑driven team working to create real opportunities for students and communities across Connecticut.

We welcome applicants from all backgrounds and experiences who share our commitment to equity and expanding career-connected learning opportunities for every student.

ReadyCT is an equal opportunity employer.
