Job description

We are seeking a Senior Sales Executive to join our Intelligent Operations and Automation (IOA) business within the Communications, Media, and Technology (CMT) practice.
This is a Senior hunting-focused role and responsible for accelerating existing business growth across our Digital Operations business unit. While ownership of existing strategic accounts is expected, 50-70% of the role is focused on new logo acquisition, expanding Cognizant's footprint and shaping high-value Digital Operations led opportunities across the CMT segment.
This role is designed for a proven sales leader with deep experience in consultative, empathetic selling within the following industries: High-tech, Telecom, Media, digital-native, SaaS, platform, and online ecosystem companies. The ideal candidate is highly networked across the target industries landscape, understands the culture and pace of digital-native organizations, and can navigate complex stakeholder environments to close large, multi-million-dollar transformation deals.
Responsibilities:
  • Drive portfolio growth strategy and execution, delivering against defined revenue, margin, and pipeline performance metrics.
  • Lead new logo acquisition efforts, identifying, shaping, and closing large, complex BPO/ Digital Operations deals.
  • Establish and sustain executive-level relationships with senior client stakeholders, acting as a trusted advisor.
  • Provide thought leadership, influencing client mindshare and internal senior leadership on industry trends, operating models, and Operations-led transformation.
  • Partner with Solutions, Delivery, Process Excellence, and Automation teams to craft differentiated, outcome-driven client propositions.
  • Lead end-to-end account ownership including deal shaping, forecasting, budgeting, and P&L accountability.
  • Drive measurable revenue and profit growth within defined timelines and governance structures.
  • Engage with industry bodies, analysts, and advisors to align Cognizant's IOA and CMT offerings with market needs and strategic priorities.
  • Navigate complex global, matrixed organizations, aligning internal stakeholders to deliver client and business outcomes.

Required Qualifications:
  • 10 to 25 years of overall industry experience, with 10+ years in digital-native or technology-driven environments.
  • Deep understanding and relationships of AI Ops and Business services relevant to Digital natives, e-commerce, Hi-Tech and SaaS industries will be high valued.
  • Strong background in BPO, Digital Operations, or Scale Operations, preferably within CMT or adjacent technology segments.
  • Proven experience leading $10M+ annual revenue portfolios with deal sizes and TCV in the $10M-$30M range.
  • Demonstrated success in consultative, solution-led selling, including large, complex, multi-stakeholder deals.
  • Deep understanding of technology platform companies and digital operating models with a strong pint of view on Agentic AI and how it is transforming business operations
  • Experience advising clients on:
    • Location and operating model strategy
    • Engagement model transformation
    • Business value articulation and ROI-led solutioning
  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to translate client challenges into scalable IOA solutions.
  • Proven ability to operate effectively within global, matrixed organizational structures.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Established senior-level relationships within CMT organizations
  • Exposure in originating and wining Agentic AI led operations deals
  • Exposure across multiple operations service domains including: Enterprise Operations, Digital Customer Experience, ML / AI Operations Content and Trust & Safety Services
  • Experience partnering with analysts, advisors, and industry forums to shape market positioning.
  • Strong executive presence with the ability to influence both client and internal leadership teams.

Salary and Other Compensation:
The annual salary for this position is between $250,000 to $275,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant's discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant's applicable plans.
