Executive Strategy information

What is executive strategy?

Executive Strategy refers to the process by which top-level leaders, such as CEOs and senior executives, develop and implement plans to achieve an organization's long-term objectives. This involves analyzing internal and external factors, setting goals, allocating resources, and making decisions that guide the overall direction of the company. Executive strategists often collaborate with other leaders to ensure alignment across departments and to adapt to changing market conditions. Their work is critical for sustaining growth, competitive advantage, and organizational success.

How does an executive strategy professional typically collaborate with other departments to drive company-wide initiatives?

Executive Strategy professionals play a pivotal role in aligning departmental objectives with the organization's long-term goals. They frequently work cross-functionally, partnering with leaders from finance, operations, marketing, and product teams to ensure initiatives are strategically sound and feasible. Regular meetings, strategic workshops, and project management tools are commonly used to maintain clear communication and accountability. This collaborative approach not only helps break down silos but also ensures that strategic decisions are informed by diverse perspectives and expertise.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an executive strategy professional, and why are they important?

To thrive as an Executive Strategy professional, you need strong analytical thinking, business acumen, and a background in business administration or a related field, often supported by an MBA or equivalent experience. Familiarity with strategic planning tools, data analytics platforms, and financial modeling software is typically required. Outstanding leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills set top performers apart in this role. These competencies enable effective decision-making, drive organizational growth, and ensure successful implementation of strategic initiatives.

What is the difference between Executive Strategy vs Business Development Manager?

Both roles are vital for company growth but differ in scope, responsibilities, and skill sets.

About the Team

Our Enterprise and Strategic teams sit at the center of Miro's evolution from a collaboration product to an AI-powered innovation workspace. Enterprise AEs work with large, complex organisations from 3,000 to 15,000 employees that are rethinking how their teams collaborate, innovate, and bring products to market. About the Role

Deals at both levels are multi-threaded, multi-stakeholder, and often multi-year. You'll work in tightly coordinated PODs alongside Solution Engineering, Customer Success, Value Advisory, Professional Services, and executive leadership. If you operate best when you're building long-term relationships, navigating complexity, and winning deals that genuinely transform how companies work — this is your team.

What you’ll do
  • Own a named account territory or portfolio
    • Enterprise: Pursue net-new logos and grow existing footprint across a portfolio of 3,000–15,000 EE organisations, with a disciplined outbound motion running in parallel.

    • Engage senior leaders across Product, Engineering, Design, IT, Transformation, Finance, and the C-suite. Create compelling business cases that tie Miro to named customer initiatives, quantified pain, strategic priorities, and long-term value realisation.
  • Orchestrate your POD to win
    • Lead cross-functional teams across Solution Engineering, Customer Success, Value Advisory, Professional Services, Product, Marketing, Partners, and executive sponsors. Align the team around clear account objectives, executive engagement plans, and expansion plays.
  • Create and manage strategic pipeline
    • Maintain a disciplined pipeline generation motion using account-based execution, executive outreach, customer workshops, field marketing, partner collaboration, and renewal planning.
  • Operate with rigorous sales discipline
    • Apply MEDDPICC and Command of the Message at an expert level. Build customer-validated problem statements, develop real Champions, secure Economic Buyer access, quantify business impact, and use mutual plans to drive complex opportunities forward.
  • Forecast with precision and raise the bar
    • Leverage leading indicators to stay ahead of coverage requirements, communicate risks early, contribute deal learnings, and mentor peers on territory planning, stakeholder mapping, and value selling.
