What is an executive mapping designer?

An Executive Mapping Designer is a professional who specializes in creating high-level visual representations, such as organizational charts, strategic roadmaps, or data maps, for executives and decision-makers. Their work helps clarify complex information, support strategic planning, and enhance communication across leadership teams. They use advanced design tools and data visualization techniques to ensure that information is accessible and actionable for executives. This role typically requires strong analytical, communication, and design skills, as well as experience working with senior leadership.

How does an executive mapping designer typically collaborate with leadership teams during the project lifecycle?

Executive Mapping Designers work closely with organizational leaders to understand strategic goals and translate them into effective visual mapping solutions. Throughout a project, they facilitate workshops, gather feedback, and present draft maps to ensure alignment with executive vision. Regular communication with stakeholders is essential, as the designer often adapts and refines deliverables based on evolving requirements. This collaborative approach ensures that mapping outputs are both visually compelling and strategically relevant.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an executive mapping designer, and why are they important?

To excel as an Executive Mapping Designer, you need expertise in data visualization, cartography, and spatial analysis, typically supported by a degree in geography, GIS, or a related field. • Manage, retain, renew, and expand a named list of large wealth management enterprise target accounts.
  • Conduct in-person executive meetings, onsite discovery sessions, and conference travel about 35% of the time.
  • Build multi-threaded relationships across executive, operational, technology, and procurement stakeholders.
  • Lead complex discovery, product validation, business case development, proposal execution, and negotiation.
  • Drive whitespace expansion within strategic customer accounts through upsell, cross-sell, and executive-level account development.
  • Partner with Solutions Consultants, SDRs, Customer Success, Delivery, Legal, and Product to move large deals forward.
  • Maintain rigorous account planning, executive mapping, and Salesforce forecast discipline.
  • Represent the company as a trusted market presence at events, conferences, and strategic customer meetings.

WHAT YOU BRING

  • 7+ years of B2B SaaS enterprise sales experience with a track record of overachievement.
  • Proven success selling into large financial services, wealth management, or similarly complex enterprise environments.
  • Executive presence and the ability to engage senior leaders with confidence and credibility.
  • Strong strategic thinking and the ability to build account plans that open new white space.
  • Excellent multi-stakeholder selling, renewal management, negotiation, and deal orchestration skills.
  • Comfort working long sales cycles with many moving parts and high visibility.
  • Strong command of structured sales methodology and forecasting discipline.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Prior experience selling wealthtech, fintech, regtech, or enterprise SaaS solutions.
  • Experience with regional wealth management firms, RIAs, broker-dealers, or advisor platforms.
  • Familiarity with MEDDPIC, Challenger, or another structured enterprise sales methodology.
  • Existing network in wealth management or financial services technology.
  • Demonstrated success winning competitive displacements.

HOW SUCCESS IS MEASURED

  • Annual new-logo, renewal, and expansion ARR attainment.
  • Pipeline coverage across named strategic accounts.
  • Win rate on enterprise opportunities and target accounts.
  • Forecast accuracy and stage progression discipline.
  • Progress in executive relationship depth, renewal retention, whitespace creation, and strategic account penetration.
