Senior Manager, OperationsPosition Summary

The Senior Manager, Operations is responsible for overseeing and optimizing daily operational activities across the facility or region to ensure efficiency, productivity, safety, and customer satisfaction. This role leads multiple teams, drives operational excellence initiatives, manages KPIs, and collaborates cross-functionally to support company goals and continuous improvement efforts.


Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage day-to-day operations within the distribution center, warehouse, manufacturing plant, or logistics operation.
  • Develop and implement operational strategies to improve productivity, service levels, cost control, and overall performance.
  • Supervise and mentor Operations Managers, Supervisors, and frontline staff.
  • Monitor operational KPIs including productivity, quality, safety, inventory accuracy, and customer service metrics.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, OSHA regulations, and safety standards.
  • Partner with HR on staffing, employee relations, training, coaching, and performance management.
  • Analyze operational data and prepare reports for senior leadership.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, or other operational excellence methodologies.
  • Collaborate with customers, vendors, and internal departments to ensure smooth operational execution.
  • Manage labor planning, scheduling, and budget performance.
  • Support implementation of new systems, processes, and operational technologies.
  • Lead employee engagement initiatives and foster a positive team culture.
  • Ensure operational readiness during peak seasons and high-volume periods.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, Operations Management, or related field preferred.
  • 7+ years of operations leadership experience, preferably in logistics, transportation, warehousing, manufacturing, or supply chain environments.
  • Experience managing large teams and multiple operational departments.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven ability to manage KPIs and drive operational improvements.
  • Experience with WMS, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies preferred.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and deadline-driven environment.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.

About the Role

How you will contribute

  • Manage the daily activities of a logistics operation to maximize scheduling and delivery of commodities to the customer.
  • Interface with customer to ensure smooth -coordination of scheduling and maximization of schedule adherence; provides input on local conditions, identifies needs and receives direction on real-time staffing increases or decreases.
  • Enact contingency plans as needed; escalate and direct activities during system problems, disasters, etc.; identify potential problems, troubleshoot, escalate issues to local and senior management, and participate in post-mortem analysis of problems providing input for future process improvements.
  • Review ongoing performance results to targets. Take corrective measures with authorization, escalate as needed
  • Responsible for providing effective leadership to the Warehouse Managers and/or team, enforcing company standards, act as a role model.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Your Key Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or related field preferred.
  • Progressive experience performing professional level operational and plant management duties; preferably in automotive or logistics industry.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex documents. Ability to respond effectively to sensitive inquiries or complaints. Ability to write documents using original or innovative techniques or style. Ability to make effective and persuasive presentations on controversial or complex topics to top management and customer.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Proficient personal computer skills including electronic mail, record keeping, routine database activity, word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, etc.
