Chief Operating Officer (COO) - Intercessors for America Chief Operating Officer (COO) Lead Operations. Advance the Mission. Make a Difference.

Location:Purcellville, VA (Onsite)
Salary:$145,000–$165,000 + Benefits Package

Intercessors for America (IFA) is a growing Christian nonprofit that has faithfully prayed for our government and its leaders for more than 50 years. Through news, prayer, and action, we seek to make a meaningful impact on our nation.

We are seeking a strategic, mission-driven Chief Operating Officer (COO) to join our executive leadership team. Reporting to the CEO, the COO will provide operational leadership across the organization, strengthen systems and processes, develop high-performing teams, and help position IFA for continued growth and ministry impact.

WHAT THE CANDIDATE WILL DO
  • Partner with the CEO to execute organizational strategy and priorities.

  • Provide leadership and oversight to department heads and teams across operations, finance, programs, development, and volunteer engagement.

  • Lead day-to-day operations, ensuring organizational effectiveness, accountability, and alignment.

  • Build, scale, and optimize systems, processes, and infrastructure to support ministry growth.

  • Provide executive oversight of HR, IT, administration, compliance, and program operations.

  • Support financial planning, reporting, and organizational stewardship.

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to the CEO and leadership team.

  • Prepare operational reports and recommendations for leadership and the Board of Directors.

WHAT ONE WILL BRING
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Nonprofit Management, Organizational Leadership, or a related field required; Master's degree preferred.

  • 7–12 years of progressive leadership experience in operations, program management, and people leadership.

  • Minimum of 3 years of executive-level leadership experience in a nonprofit, ministry, association, or mission-driven organization.

  • Strong business acumen, financial oversight, strategic planning, and organizational development skills.

  • Demonstrated success leading teams, managing change, and improving organizational effectiveness.

  • Experience with Salesforce or similar CRM and data management platforms preferred.

  • Exceptional communication, relationship-building, and leadership skills.

  • Alignment with and commitment to IFA's Christian mission, values, and Statement of Faith.
