Minnesota United FC (MNUFC) is a professional soccer club competing in Major League Soccer (MLS), the top tier of soccer in North America. As a club driven by passion and community, we operate under the oversight of the U.S. Soccer Federation, a member of FIFA. Our headquarters are in Golden Valley, MN, with soccer operations based at the MNUFC Training Center in Blaine. On matchdays, we call Allianz Field in St. Paul home-one of the premier soccer-specific stadiums in the country.
Position:
The Special Events Associate is part of the Special Events department for Minnesota United FC (MNUFC), a sports business located in the Twins Cities area of Minnesota and a member of Major League Soccer (MLS), the top tier soccer league in North America.
Position Summary:
The Special Events Associate is a part-time role that will primarily assist the Special Events team with the event sales process and execution of non-game day events. This role will contribute to increasing overall efficiency and business growth for revenue-generating events at Allianz Field. This position is based at Allianz Field in St. Paul, MN and reports directly to a Special Events Specialist.

What You'll Do:
  • Support sales efforts by building prospect lists, qualifying and prioritizing leads, and maintaining accurate CRM data to drive pipeline visibility and follow-up.
  • Assist in creating client-facing materials, including pitch decks, proposals, and presentations tailored to a variety of event types.
  • Conduct market and competitive research to identify trends, pricing benchmarks, and new opportunities across key event segments.
  • Coordinate client site visits and support the pre-sale experience, ensuring smooth handoffs from sales to event execution.
  • Provide administrative and project support for sales initiatives, including contracting, invoicing, campaign coordination, and creative request management.
  • Execute outbound outreach and re-engagement efforts, supporting email campaigns, follow-ups, and post-event client engagement to drive repeat business.
  • Support event day operations, including set-up and tear-down, content capture, and on-site coordination to deliver a high-quality client experience.

What You'll Bring:
  • At least 1 year of experience in special events, event sales, or related role is preferred.
  • Outstanding communication skills, including in-person and email.
  • Highly detail-oriented and consistently takes initiative to complete tasks efficiently and effectively.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and follow timelines.
  • Able to work flexible schedule, nights and weekends.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Ability to lift 25 lbs.
  • Access to reliable transportation.
