Pay Rate: $22.00/hour
Location: Providence, RI 02912
Duration: August 24, 2026 - January 1, 2027
The Banquet Captain is responsible for assisting with leading events around campus.
What You'll Do
  • Assist with leading events in the Catering Department which include set up, service, breakdown and clean-up of functions or areas on campus.
  • Gather and deliver all food and supplies for catered functions to the scheduled locations.
  • Clean and pack unused food dishes, utensils, and equipment for safe removal to appropriate locations.
  • Handle trash and waste properly.
  • Help guests find what they need while keeping all work areas looking clean and tidy.
  • Assist with prepping events, working events, and general duties required for the Catering Dept.
  • Act as the central liaison between event hosts, kitchen staff, and service teams, ensuring functions strictly adhere to the designated event.
  • Assist in setting up and breaking down events.
  • Act as main point of contact to immediately resolve guest complaints or sudden logistical changes.
  • Provide a high level of customer service.

What You'll Bring
  • Prior catering or lead experience working at a country club, supervisor of staff in food services, or marketing events.
  • 1-3 years of hospitality experience and proven leadership.
  • Must be able to stand during duration of events.
  • Must be flexible on hours available.
  • Must work well in a team environment.
