Job description

MULTIMEDIA CONTENT & COMMUNICATION APPLICANTS ARE ENCOURAGED TO APPLY IF/WHEN THAT POSITION IS POSTED. This is seasonal/temporary work performing services aimed at improving the quality of life of City residents. Persons in this class are assigned to the Department of Resident Services and work under the direction of Department of Resident Services Director, Supervisor, and Specialist.

Employees may perform both manual and technical tasks relative to the production of special events. Employees in this class are primarily responsible for collaborating with the RiversEdge production team in providing the best experience for artists and attendees at all events. The work may involve duties relating to event production or multimedia content and communication.

Employees in this class will be assigned to one of two crews: Production or Multimedia. Work is normally performed under the supervision of a permanent employee who directs the work and provides instructions as needed. Essential Job Functions EVENT PRODUCTION Assists technicians with the operation of lighting, sound and video equipment.

Safely loads and unloads trucks; pushes road cases and equipment to desired locations; assists house crew and artists with loading and storing gear and equipment. Assists in running cables and setting up lighting, speakers, microphones, LED video walls and other equipment. Tests and maintains equipment to ensure optimal performance.

Aids in stage setup, changeover and strike of stage equipment before, during and after performances and events. Performs routine maintenance and organization as related to backstage and production areas. Collaborates with other technicians and production staff to ensure a cohesive and successfully produced event.

Performs errands and other duties as assigned. MULTIMEDIA CONTENT & COMMUNICATION Works with media director to develop and produce multimedia content, including videos, graphics and interactive elements for various platforms. Captures video coverage of live events, interviews and other opportunities to use for social media content.

Uses software tools to edit, refine and enhance multimedia assets. Works closely with marketing/media director and video team to plan and schedule projects. Uses Google Drive and Dropbox to manage and organize media files.

Performs errands and other duties as assigned. Skills/Knowledges/Abilities EVENT PRODUCTION Passion for and/or interest in live music and event production. Experience in event production or as a stagehand is useful, although not required.

Ability to lead, make decisions, follow instructions and to exercise normal caution. Ability to perform semi-skilled tasks without close supervision. Ability to perform manual labor for extended periods and under unfavorable weather conditions.

Ability to understand and follow oral and written directions in a busy, fast-paced environment. Ability to communicate and interact with fellow employees and the public. MULTIMEDIA CONTENT & COMMUNICATION Passion for and/or interest in live music and event production.

Experience in event production or promotion is useful, although not required. Possession of computer and editing software required. Possession of camera and/or sound equipment preferred.

Ability to lead, make decisions, follow instructions and to exercise normal caution. Ability to perform semi-skilled tasks without close supervision. Ability to withstand extended periods outdoors, and under unfavorable weather conditions.

Ability to understand and follow oral and written directions in a busy, fast-paced environment. Ability to communicate and get along well with fellow employees and the public. Training/Education/Qualifications EVENT PRODUCTION AND MULTIMEDIA CONTENT & COMMUNICATION Minimum Qualifications Must be Sixteen (16) years of age.

Must have a driver's license. Must be able to work flexible hours including weekends, days, evenings and holidays. Preferred Qualifications Basic understanding of the fundamentals of audio, backline, lighting and video.

Basic understanding of the use of all social media platforms. Possession of high school diploma or GED.
