Job description

Reporting to the Associate Vice President, Events Management, the Event Manager will be responsible for executing internal and external events for Matthews Real Estate Investment Services. In partnership with marketing and sales, this role will be responsible for delivering strategic events that drive meaningful interactions with agents, employees, clients, and prospects to ultimately drive growth and support business goals.
This position will be based out of our Phoenix, AZ office
Responsibilities
  • Specialized knowledge in contracting, organizing, and managing all logistical aspects of complex client facing events, internal events and tradeshows; 5+ years of experience
  • Project management - ability to understand scope, create timelines and detailed event forecasts, and deliver on time to budget
  • Manage event logistics and details including registration, travel, hotels, venues, transportation, shipping, food/beverage, event communications, ordering show services for tradeshows
  • Coordinate with external agencies, production partners, venues, and vendors to ensure flawless execution
  • Track budgets, invoices, contracts, and event reporting with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Maintain budgets, provide budget updates, review invoices, verify payments and reconciliations, and ensure budget stays within stated limits
  • Develop and measure key performance objectives for tradeshows and events to evaluate event outcomes, engagement analytics and ROI
  • Support onsite execution, troubleshooting, and real-time problem solving during live events
  • Identify opportunities to improve workflows and operationalize processes using AI and automation tools

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, communications, or related field
  • 5+ years of event management experience, 3+ years of tradeshow management experience
  • Proven track record handling complex projects simultaneously with multiple stakeholders
  • Ability to travel up to 40% and availability to work a varied schedule that will include evenings and weekends, as applicable to event schedules
  • Outstanding project management and organizational skills with an ability to prioritize effectively amidst many moving pieces and complete tasks with high quality and on deadline
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence and motivate partners and participants
  • Self-motivated and results-driven, with the ability to think strategically and execute tactically
  • Strong financial acumen with experience in vendor management, contract negotiation, and budget stewardship
  • Demonstrates curiosity and a continuous improvement mindset, proactively identifying opportunities to leverage AI, automation, and emerging technologies to improve business outcomes.
  • Ability to thrive in a rapidly changing environment and run multiple concurrent project demands within established timelines
