POSITION: Children's Ministry Evening Service Coordinator- Redeemer East Side
DEPARTMENT: Children's Ministry
REPORTS TO: Children's Ministry Director
DATE: June 2026 + training prior to start date
HOURS WORKED: 3 hours on Sunday evening + 2 hours during the weekday
SALARY: $25/hr FLSA: non-exempt
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Seeking a passionate and dedicated Children's Ministry Evening Service Coordinator to lead and nurture a vibrant, gospel-centered environment for children during our Sunday evening worship services. The ideal candidate will create a safe, engaging space where children of all ages can learn and grow in their faith. Responsibilities include facilitating fun and educational activities, providing physical care and supervision, and supporting gospel-based teaching.
REQUIREMENTS:
  • Must be available on Sunday evenings from 4:15 PM to 7:00 PM, plus 2 hr during the week for administrative duties.
  • Lead and facilitate the delivery of curriculum during class time.
  • Send weekly emails to volunteers and staff, providing updates, schedules, and important information.
  • Organize and lead regular meetings with volunteers and staff to discuss curriculum and address any issues.
  • Responsible for setting up and taking down the greeter table
  • Greet and assign tasks to both paid staff and volunteers, and coordinate their placement in classrooms.
  • Organizes and sets up classrooms to fit need the needs of volunteers, staff and children each Sunday evening
  • Greets all children, families and visitors that are coming to class.
  • Runs evening meetings, prays with staff before check-in begins and is responsible for leading the class through weekly lessons.
  • Attend mandatory training sessions each year to review policies & procedures. This is to help build community so that as a staff we can continue to serve Redeemer East Side kids safely and effectively..
  • Must be able to work on Easter plus at least one Sunday during the winter holidays (around Christmas/New Year's).
  • Work on Lessons and Carols Sunday (typically the third Sunday in December)
  • Maintains ratios in the classroom and/or redistributes volunteers as needed.
  • Collects and maintains attendance sheets for accuracy and security and creates an attendance record for the day
  • Cleans classroom space and returns all classroom supplies to their assigned containers.

  • Heart for God, families and children.
  • Must be able to talk with children & parents and lead staff & volunteers in the classroom.
  • Must be a team player and have character qualities such as integrity, wisdom and good judgment.
  • Warm and engaging personality that is welcoming to parents and children, especially those children who may have difficulty separating from their parents.
  • Must pass Redeemer background check.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Experience in curriculum implementation.
