Job description

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Design, configure, build, test, and support Epic Patient Access applications, including Epic Cadence and Prelude.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into system configurations and workflow improvements.
  • Design and optimize scheduling, registration, admissions, referrals, authorization, insurance verification, and patient throughput workflows.
  • Lead medium- to large-scale Epic enhancements, upgrades, and implementation initiatives through design, build, testing, and deployment.
  • Configure visit types, work queues, registration forms, referral templates, provider records, and related application components.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert (SME) for Epic Patient Access modules and related operational workflows.
  • Perform workflow analysis, troubleshoot application issues, and implement system enhancements.
  • Participate in design reviews, validation sessions, testing, and change management activities.
  • Identify opportunities for system optimization and collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement improvements.
  • Support production issues, incident resolution, and on-call activities as required.
  • Develop and maintain functional documentation, configuration standards, and testing artifacts.
  • Partner with training teams to develop application-specific training materials and support end-user education.
  • Mentor junior analysts on Epic functionality, best practices, workflow design, and system configuration.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational standards for configuration management and change control.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Healthcare Informatics, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 4+ years of experience supporting Epic Patient Access applications in a healthcare environment.
  • Active Epic Cadence Certification.
  • Strong knowledge of Patient Access workflows, including:
    • Patient Scheduling
    • Registration
    • Admissions
    • Patient Flow
    • Insurance Verification
    • Real-Time Eligibility
    • Referrals and Authorizations
  • 4+ years of experience configuring and supporting Epic Patient Access modules.
  • Experience leading application enhancements, upgrades, and testing activities.
  • Experience with workflow analysis, system configuration, troubleshooting, and documentation.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience with Decision Trees.
