JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:                

  • Translate qualitative and quantitative research findings (usability testing, field studies, simulations) into clear, prioritized insights and recommendations that inform HMI, display, and overall heavy equipment UX decisions.
  • Clarify operator, customer, and business needs and synthesize them into evidencebased interaction concepts that support safe, efficient, and intuitive operation of heavy equipment in realworld conditions.
  • Understanding of research methodologies and experience facilitating research for physicaldigital systems.
  • Experience integrating user research into product designs and design practices
  • Communicate with design and other cross-functional collaborators on prototype requirements to test and iterate.
  • Document key goals, themes, elements, and behaviors that must be implemented by downstream design teams.
  • Create shareable UX artifacts based on the team's research and activities (such as journey maps, storyboards, and user flows, etc)
  • Create and maintain shareable UX research artifacts, such as operator journeys, task flows, mental models, storyboards, and experience maps, to align crossfunctional teams around operator needs and context of use.
  • Incorporate ergonomics and humanfactors considerations into UX research planning and synthesis, ensuring physical, cognitive, and interaction demands are holistically addressed in HMI and cab experience.
  • Prioritize research needs/backlog based on product roadmap

Requirements

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • B.S. or higher in Human Computer Interaction, Human Factors, Psychology, or other UX-related field AND 8+ yrs of experience in UX Research and knowledge of user experience best practices desired, preferably within a corporate environment or B2B environment.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • Must possess a thorough understanding of UI best practices, UI design, and essential graphic design theory
  • Able to produce results independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment
  • Experience and proficiency in UI layout, spec, and prototyping tools
  • Experience in Ergonomics HMI research
  • Experience managing multiple projects and deadlines
  • Portfolio demonstrating your expertise and ability to articulate your process

DESIRED SKILLS:

  • Project management experience a plus.
  • Experience in automotive or other adjacent fields is a plus

SOFT SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Outstanding communication, organization, time management, and interpersonal skills
  • Exceptional data storytelling capability
