Computer Maintenance Technician (Entry-Level Tech Support)

Weld County School District Re-8


Salary Information

Hourly Rate: $20.88 $37.68 per hour, depending on education and experience.

This is a full-time, 8-hour per day position on a 240-day (year-round) calendar. The position qualifies for health insurance benefits after a 90-day probationary period. The District will accept up to 25 years of relevant work experience for placement.


Position Summary

The Computer Maintenance Technician provides entry-level technical support for district technology systems. This position is responsible for installing, configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting hardware, software, and network systems to support staff and student learning environments.


Qualifications for the Position

  • High school diploma required; Associate's degree or equivalent college coursework in a related field preferred
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience with installation, configuration, and maintenance of desktop hardware and software
  • Experience with operating systems and software including Windows 10, Chrome OS, Apple iOS, Microsoft Office, Google Chrome, Adobe Creative Cloud, and security platforms such as Sophos preferred
  • Experience with workstation imaging processes (e.g., FOG imaging system) preferred
  • Knowledge of networking components including firewalls, routers, switches, NICs, and cabling preferred
  • Experience supporting voice, video, and network equipment (e.g., smart boards, VoIP systems) preferred
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to lift and carry equipment up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to perform additional duties as assigned
