Our mission is to create limitless pathways for people to belong where they live, work, learn, and play.The Director of Technology & Innovation plays a critical role in advancing Adjoin's mission by leading technology initiatives, overseeing technology, databases, websites, system implementations, and ensuring platforms and tools effectively support organizational growth, efficiency, and service delivery.
This role serves as a bridge between leadership, operations, and technical resources-ensuring that technology solutions are practical, scalable, and aligned with Adjoin's values and strategic priorities.
The position provides both strategic vision and leadership, along with hands-on support across projects, including platform planning, implementation and optimization of technology platforms, product management, vendor coordination, and continuous improvement of systems and processes. This role is dedicated to supporting Adjoin's people, team members, and stakeholders by ensuring technology solutions enhance the team member experience, strengthen service delivery, and empower those we serve.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Technology Strategy & Leadership- Partner with the CEO and leadership team to identify, evaluate, and implement technology solutions that enhance organizational effectiveness
- Provide strategic input on digital platforms, systems, and innovation opportunities
- Ensure all technology initiatives align with Adjoin's mission, values, and organizational priorities
- Develop and maintain a technology roadmap to support scalability and long-term growth
Project & Platform Management- Lead and oversee technology projects from planning through implementation and optimization
- Oversee new platform implementations, ensuring timelines, functionality, and user experience expectations are met
- Monitor project progress, identify risks, and proactively resolve barriers to execution
- Ensure successful adoption of new systems through training and cross-functional collaboration
- Collaborate closely with Quality Assurance and Technology Coordinator to troubleshoot issues and implement enhancements
Path-Now Product Management & Platform Oversight- Lead end-to-end product strategy and lifecycle management for Path-Now, aligning innovation with business goals and user needs
- Establish and drive product management best practices, including KPI tracking, prioritization frameworks, and data-informed decision-making to improve speed, performance, and ROI
- Define and implement a UX-driven approach by integrating user research, workflow analysis, and usability insights into product development and enhancements
- Maintain P&L oversight for Path-Now, managing revenue growth, cost efficiency, and long-term sustainability
- Identify and support new revenue opportunities, including partnerships, licensing, and value-added features tailored to IDD service providers
- Oversee platform administration and QA functions, ensuring consistent performance, reliability, and user experience
- Develop and manage QA processes, while incorporating stakeholder and user feedback to drive continuous improvement
Fiscal Oversight- Works with CFO to develop and monitor department budgets.
- Identifies strategies to reduce costs and increase revenues to maintain fiscal health.
Team Oversight & Collaboration- Supervise and support the technology department team, providing guidance, accountability, and development
- Collaborate with directors and cross-functional teams to identify technology needs and implement solutions
- Serve as a key liaison between internal teams and external IT partners
IT & Vendor Management- Coordinate with IT vendors to ensure effective service delivery, system performance, and issue resolution
- Assist in sourcing, evaluating, and recommending technology solutions that improve efficiency and scalability
- Manage vendor relationships, contracts, and performance expectations
Problem Solving & Continuous Improvement- Identify system inefficiencies and recommend practical, scalable improvements
- Provide hands-on support in resolving technology-related issues across the organization
- Ensure systems remain current, secure, and aligned with industry best practices
Reporting & Communication- Provide regular updates to the CEO and leadership team on project status, risks, and outcomes
- Deliver insights and recommendations to support informed decision-making
- Maintain clear documentation of systems, processes, and technology initiatives
Minimum Qualifications:- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, Systems Management, or related field
- Five (5)+ years of progressive experience in technology project management, systems management, or digital operations
- Demonstrated experience overseeing platform implementations and cross-functional technology initiatives
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills
- Experience with QA processes, testing methodologies, and system optimization
- Ability to translate technical concepts into practical solutions for non-technical stakeholders
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Familiarity with CRM systems, digital platforms, and vendor management
- Experience supervising or mentoring team members
- Experience supporting or scaling digital platforms or marketplaces (preferred)
- Experience working in nonprofit or mission-driven organizations (preferred)
Position Requirements:- Ability to travel within and throughout the areas in which services are provided up to 30% of the time.
- Ability to travel in and throughout the state on a quarterly basis to attend meetings, trainings, etc.
- Successful completion of pre-employment drug screen and background check.
- Valid California driver's license, reliable transportation, and acceptable DMV record.
Work Requirements:- This position operates in both office and remote environments with other office locations. Essential functions require prolonged sitting, standing, walking, speaking, hearing, and regular use of a computer, keyboard, telephone, and standard office equipment.
- The role involves extended periods of computer use, repetitive hand and wrist motion, and visual focus on a computer screen. Occasional physical activity may include bending, stretching, and lifting up to 25 pounds.
- Work is performed in typical office conditions with moderate noise levels. Reasonable accommodation will be provided in accordance with applicable federal and California disability laws.
- Due to the nature of organizational operations, this position may require occasional evening or weekend availability to support system implementations or critical issues
