As part of our mission, you will provide empathetic and comprehensive care to individuals and families, ensuring access to quality mental health services in underserved communities.

About the Organization

At New Dawn Wellness, LLC, we are committed to promoting healthier communities through safe, patient-centered healthcare services, particularly in areas lacking adequate resources. Our organization embraces the philosophy of acting locally while thinking globally, striving to set a benchmark for other health centers. Our mission is central to our operations and guides our efforts in providing high-quality mental health services to those in need, regardless of their ability to pay.

Work Environment

The Licensed Mental Health Counselor will work primarily in a remote setting, collaborating closely with a multidisciplinary team to support clientsโ€™ needs. Our community health clinic fosters a culture of innovation and compassion, encouraging teamwork and respect for diverse backgrounds, traditions, and beliefs. You will be part of an organization that values inclusivity and a commitment to service excellence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Engage with assigned clients in individual, group, and family therapy sessions, utilizing evidence-based therapeutic approaches to effectively address symptoms of major mental illness and severe emotional disorders.
  • Collaborate with team members to achieve shared goals, participating actively in team meetings and fostering open communication.
  • Provide brief, focused mental health interventions, prevention services, and recovery-oriented care tailored to clients' specific needs.
  • Assist in crisis intervention efforts, employing your training and experience to assess and manage high-risk situations effectively.
  • Maintain a manageable caseload, conducting thorough assessments and developing treatment plans for each client.
  • Be available for on-call coverage during after-hours as assigned, ensuring that emergency mental health needs are adequately addressed.
  • Participate in committees aimed at enhancing service delivery and contributing to organizational quality improvement initiatives.
Patient Population / Client Focus

The primary focus is on serving diverse populations who experience significant mental health challenges, including those dealing with major mental illnesses and emotional disorders. Our clients often come from under-resourced backgrounds, and as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, your role will be to provide both immediate therapeutic support and long-term care strategies. Your work will significantly enhance their overall mental well-being and empower them to pursue healthier lives.

Qualifications
  • A Masterโ€™s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology.
  • Current licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in the state of California.
  • Minimum of three years of experience in mental health counseling or related fields.
  • Strong understanding of assessment, diagnosis, treatment methodologies, crisis intervention, and risk assessment for various populations.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills that facilitate effective interaction with team members and clients.
  • Proven organizational and planning skills, including the ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks.
Preferred Experience

Experience working in community health settings or with underserved populations is highly advantageous. Familiarity with telehealth platforms and remote counseling methodologies would also be beneficial as our delivery methods prioritize accessibility and compliance with modern practices.

Compensation and Benefits

The annual salary for this position ranges from USD 120,000 to 130,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications. In addition to a competitive salary, we offer a comprehensive benefits package that includes:
