As part of our team, you will collaborate closely with law enforcement, psychiatric hospitals, and various mental health organizations. While offering remote counseling, you will have the necessary tools and resources to facilitate effective communication and case management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide mental health counseling to individuals in crisis, assisting in the development of action plans and evaluating the necessity of involuntary detention applications (5150/5585).
  • Train law enforcement personnel in best practices for addressing mental health concerns with arrestees, aiming to reduce the need for forceful interventions.
  • Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations in the field, collaborating with police officers to assess the needs of at-risk individuals.
  • Coordinate with third-party entities, including psychiatric facilities and the Department of Mental Health, ensuring seamless patient care and follow-up.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential records of patient interactions and treatment plans to ensure compliance with legal and ethical regulations.
  • Provide short-term crisis intervention counseling for non-violent patients, guiding them through immediate mental health challenges.
  • Facilitate transportation and placement services for individuals requiring further mental health support, helping to locate beds in shelters or necessary psychiatric facilities.
Patient Population / Client Focus

In this role, you will be working primarily with individuals experiencing acute mental health crises, including those who have been recently arrested or are struggling with homelessness. You will be an essential part of a coordinated effort to support these individuals through crisis situations, aiming to connect them with appropriate resources and care as they navigate their mental health challenges.

Qualifications
  • Must hold a valid Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) license.
  • A Bachelor's degree in counseling, psychology, or a related field is required. A Masterโ€™s degree is preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail, integrity in handling sensitive information, and outstanding interpersonal skills are essential.
  • Proficient in verbal and written communication, effectively articulating information to a diverse range of stakeholders.
  • Professional demeanor and the ability to remain composed in high-pressure situations.
  • Capable of multitasking and prioritizing responsibilities effectively.
Preferred Experience
  • Previous clinical experience, particularly in psychiatric settings, is highly desirable.
  • Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) is required.
Compensation and Benefits

Our organization values your contributions and offers a competitive salary ranging from $80,000 to $122,000 per year for full-time employees. In addition to your salary, we provide a comprehensive benefits package that includes health, dental, and vision insurance, along with retirement plans. You will also have access to our employee assistance program for additional mental health support, ensuring your well-being is prioritized.
