What Does an Entry Level Realtor Do?

Entry-level Realtors help customers buy, sell, or rent commercial or residential land and property. When entering this field, some may choose to work independently, but some companies have you work alongside a more experienced Realtor until you are more familiar with the industry. In this role, you may research current real estate trends, fill out paperwork, provide advice to clients, coordinate meetings, create marketing materials for properties, and travel throughout a set area to show properties to clients. The word Realtor officially refers to members of the National Association of Realtors (NAR), but many employers use it as an alternative for any real estate agent, so you may not need to be a registered Realtor when applying for this job.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an Entry Level Realtor, and why are they important?

To thrive as an Entry Level Realtor, you need a basic understanding of real estate principles, strong sales abilities, and a valid real estate license. Familiarity with MLS platforms, customer relationship management (CRM) software, and digital marketing tools is typically required. Exceptional communication, negotiation, and networking skills help build client trust and grow your business. These skills and tools are essential for effectively matching clients with properties and succeeding in a competitive real estate market.

What are some common challenges an entry level realtor might face when starting out in the real estate industry?

Starting as an entry level realtor can be challenging due to the need to quickly build a client base while learning industry regulations, local market trends, and effective sales techniques. New agents often face steep competition and must proactively network, market themselves, and follow up with leads to secure listings and sales. Additionally, balancing administrative duties, open houses, and client meetings requires strong organizational skills. However, many brokerages provide mentorship, training programs, and team support to help new realtors succeed.

What are entry level Realtors?

Entry level Realtors are licensed real estate professionals who are new to the industry and typically have less experience than seasoned agents. They help clients buy, sell, and rent properties, while learning the ropes of the real estate market, marketing techniques, and negotiation skills. Entry level Realtors often work under the guidance of a broker or more experienced agents as they build their client base and industry knowledge. They are responsible for tasks such as showing homes, preparing documents, and assisting with transactions. With time and experience, entry level Realtors can advance to more senior roles within the real estate industry.
