Position Summary:

The REALTOR News summer intern will be a part-time, 12-week position, designed to provide an intern with opportunities to see an association newsroom at work and support the work of the editorial team. The intern will have hands-on work with writing, editorial process, and posting content on our website.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Check published content daily to make sure it has been deployed and categorized for NoteRouter (for sharing with state and local associations).
  • Join Monday status meeting and Thursday pitch meeting, and bring one story pitch each week.
  • Summarize stories for daily/weekly/monthly newsletter emails, as assigned by editor.
  • Write news stories as assigned by editor
  • Post content to the REALTOR News site.
  • Select imagery for stories.

Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university, pursuing a degree in Journalism, Communications, English, Public Relations, Media Studies, or a related field
  • Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills with attention to AP Style
  • Interest in real estate, business, housing policy, or association journalism
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively in a team environment
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Eagerness to learn the editorial process and take constructive feedback
  • Reliable, detail-oriented, and self-motivated
Compensation: $20/hr 


NAR is on a hybrid schedule and in the office 3 days a week.
