Job description

Job Title: Physical Therapy Receptionist (Patient Service Representative)
Location: Feeding Hills Physical Therapy Office, New England Orthopedic Surgeons
Job Type: Full-Time (Regular)
Pay: $18.00–$22.00 per hour
Expected Hours: 40 hours per week
Work Location: In-person — 975 Springfield St, Feeding Hills, MA 01030

Schedule:
This is a regular full-time position based at our Feeding Hills location. The standard schedule includes:

  • Monday/Wednesday from 9:45 AM–6:15 PM

  • Tuesday/Thursday/Friday from 8:00 AM–4:30 PM

  • No weekends required

The role also requires flexibility to provide coverage at any of our five physical therapy locations as needed for emergency coverage or to support vacation and time-off coverage. Reliable transportation is a must.

New England Orthopedic Surgeons is a leading private orthopedic practice committed to providing exceptional patient care. We are currently seeking a full-time Physical Therapy Receptionist to join our dynamic team at our Feeding Hills office.


Position Summary

As a Physical Therapy Receptionist, you will be the first point of contact for our patients. Your responsibilities will include welcoming patients, verifying insurance and identity, collecting co-pays and deductibles, and maintaining accurate data in our Electronic Health Records (EHR) system. A strong ability to multitask, excellent communication skills, and a professional demeanor are essential to succeed in this role.


Key Responsibilities
  • Greet and welcome patients upon arrival

  • Direct patients to the appropriate physical therapist

  • Answer and manage incoming calls, schedule appointments

  • Verify insurance information and patient identity

  • Collect co-payments and deductibles

  • Maintain a clean and organized front desk and reception area

  • Provide accurate information in person, via phone, and by email

  • Maintain calendars and schedule meetings

  • Perform clerical duties including filing, copying, faxing, and transcribing

Required Skills & Qualifications
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a medical receptionist

  • Minimum 2 years of experience working with EMR systems

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

  • Experience operating standard office equipment (fax, printer, etc.)

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Excellent organizational, multitasking, and time management abilities

  • Professional appearance and customer service mindset

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; additional certification in Office Management is a plus
