Job description

Physical Therapy Receptionist
Orthopaedic Specialty Group currently has an opening for a Receptionist in our Physical Therapy Department. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Greet patients and visitors in a prompt, courteous, and helpful manner.
  • Arrives patients via computer system; verify patient information, current referral if applicable, and provides appropriate paperwork to patient.
  • Collects applicable co-pay.
  • Obtains benefit information and referrals/authorizations if necessary
  • Books, cancels and reschedules patient appointments
  • Answers phones, transfers and/or directs calls during busy times.
  • Acts as liaison between patient and other staff, including therapists, PTA, and physical therapy techs, etc...
  • When applicable, relays phone messages from patients to Therapists.
  • Keeps waiting room neat and presentable at all times.
  • Maintains excellent communication with Physical Therapists and patients regarding wait times or delays.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality.

Qualifications
  • Minimum of a high school diploma or GED.
  • Secondary training in business school or college preferred.
  • 1 Year of experience in a medical office as a receptionist/appointment scheduler a plus.
  • Computer literate.

Candidates will be courteous, articulate, reliable and must be able to multi-task in a busy, professional, fast-moving environment while maintaining excellent customer service.
