Job description

E2 Consulting Engineers, Inc. (E2) is a professional services firm established in 1988 specializing in a full spectrum of engineering services including, project engineering and design, federal base operations and infrastructure support services, gas pipeline construction and inspection services, environmental consulting and remediation, and information technology services. E2 is seeking a Entry-Level Transmission Line Engineer to support the design and execution of overhead transmission line projects ranging from 69 kV to 500 kV. This role involves technical design, coordination across disciplines, and increasing responsibility for project deliverables and client interaction. The selected candidate will report to the Transmission Engineering Manager.


  • Assist in the design of overhead transmission lines, including:
    • Plan and profile development
    • Structure spotting support
    • Basic drafting and design tasks
  • Support engineering calculations such as:
    • Sag and tension analysis
    • Clearance checks
  • Learn and utilize industry software tools (e.g., PLS-CADD)
  • Assist in preparing engineering drawings, reports, and material lists
  • Coordinate with internal teams including structural, environmental, and survey groups
  • Participate in field visits and site assessments as needed
  • Support quality control processes and documentation

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Structural, or Electrical Engineering
  • 0–3 years of relevant experience (internship experience acceptable)
  • EIT certification or ability to obtain within 6–12 months
  • Strong interest in transmission line engineering and infrastructure projects

Preferred

  • Exposure to PLS-CADD or similar engineering software
  • Familiarity with basic engineering design principles and standards
  • Internship or coursework related to power delivery or structural design

Salary range for this position is $90,000 - $105,000.  The starting salary will be commensurate with skill, education, experience, and working environment.
