Transmission Line Engineer (Mid-Senior level) - Renewables High Voltage T&D
A developer and operator of high voltage transmission renewable energy systems is looking to grow its Engineering Operations Team with the addition of a Mid to Senior Level Transmission Line Engineer. The role is based in Austin, TX (relocation assistance available) and will support all their projects across the state.They have a hybrid work schedule (3 days in-office a week).
This role will act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for all things related to the transmission line engineering including project engineering related initiatives in transmission design packages like PLS-CADD. It will work cross functionally with the Leadership, Engineering, EPC, and Operations Teams.
The organization has a flat structure which gives their employees direct access to executive management and the ability to gain a diverse amount of experience on various projects.The scope of their operations includes transmission (t-line), substation, regional control centers, and distribution systems with interconnects to both utility-scale solar and wind assets.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Mid-Senior Transmission Line Engineer - Leads Transmission Line Engineering Transmission design reviews and specifications
  • Mid-Senior Transmission Line Engineer - Plays a key role in the execution of Project Management and Project Engineering - estimates, budgeting, scheduling, and contractor management
  • Mid-Senior Transmission Line Engineer - Facilitates the design, analysis, and scope development for the acquisition of new transmission line projects
  • Mid-Senior Transmission Line Engineer - Performs Transmission line engineering and analysis (electrical engineering / civil engineering / structural engineering)
  • Mid-Senior Transmission Line Engineer - Supports field Engineering and Support - up to 20% travel

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or Electrical Engineering
  • 3-5+ Years Transmission Line Design Engineering, Civil / Structural Transmission Engineering Foundation, T-Line Project Engineering
  • Hands-on experience facilitating transmission line projects utilizing high-voltage design applications - Bentley Microstation, PLS CADD, PLS-Pole, SAG10, LPILE, or MFAD
  • Professional Engineering License (PE) or EIT preferred but not required
  • Understanding of NERC Transmission Protection Standard and Compliance
  • Experience with Substation Design a PLUS
  • Experience working as a Transmission Line Engineer, T-Line Engineer, Civil Structural Transmission Engineer, Transmission Project Engineer, T-Line Project Engineer on high voltage system
