Job Posting:

This entry-level manager position is responsible for providing leadership and direction to drive distribution efforts for the distribution centers. This position is responsible for managing the overall distribution process to ensure that products are shipped accurately and timely to meet customer needs along with providing visible and dynamic leadership to positively impact key initiatives. The ideal candidate has a minimum of 2years of hands-on experience in warehouse operations, a strong understanding of inventory control, and proven leadership skills.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Rotate between various departments providing leadership and supervision to employees.
  • Maintain department employee engagement and morale, coaching & developing others, enforcing policy & procedures, employee life cycle activities, and performance management.
  • Acquires in-depth and a complete knowledge of the workflow within the distribution center.
  • Supervise and coordinate all warehouse activities, including receiving, put-away, picking, packing, shipping, and cycle counting.
  • Monitor and improve productivity, accuracy, and on-time performance.
  • Manage and assist the team in daily task assignment, training, coaching, and performance feedback.
  • Ensure compliance with safety policies and procedures; conduct regular safety audits and incident investigations.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records; perform regular cycle counts
  • Oversee equipment operation and maintenance (forklifts, pallet jacks, packaging equipment) and coordinate repairs as needed.
  • Collaborate with Warehouse Supervisors on space optimization, layout changes, and process improvements.
  • Ensure proper material handling, labeling, and documentation for inbound and outbound shipments.
  • Enforce quality control standards to prevent mis-picked goods; support root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives, including process mapping, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and training programs.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in warehouse operations or a related role; supervisory or lead experience preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations, or Engineering required. Experience in lieu of degree is acceptable.
  • Strong understanding of warehouse management systems (WMS) and/or experience with barcode/RF scanning.
  • Demonstrated leadership and people-management skills; ability to coach and develop staff.
  • Excellent organizational, time-management, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work cross-functionally.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
  • Basic math and analytical skills
  • Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs., standing for extended periods, and performing manual material handling as required.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with WMI/LM systems
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices (e.g., OSHA).
  • Familiarity with inbound/outbound logistics and carrier coordination.
