Governance Operations Analyst
The Opportunity:
As a Governance Operations Analyst on our Enterprise Data Governance team, you will help deliver and continuously improve the operational services that enable secure, scalable, and effective governance of the company's enterprise data assets.
Working alongside governance strategists, process specialists, technology teams, and cross-functional partners you will support day-to-day governance operations while helping the team build more integrated, automated, and AI-enabled ways of working. You'll gain exposure to enterprise data governance capabilities, including access governance, metadata management, data classification, governance operations, automation, and governance reporting, while helping ensure governance services are delivered consistently, efficiently, and with a focus on continuous improvement.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving problems, learning new technologies, improving processes, and building a foundation for a career in Enterprise Data Governance. Due to the nature of work performed within this facility, U.S. citizenship is required.
What You'll Work On:
  • Support the day-to-day delivery of Enterprise Data Governance services by executing established operational processes and ensuring governance activities are completed accurately and efficiently.
  • Perform governance reviews, operational validations, and exception monitoring activities to help ensure governance processes are operating as intended and identify issues requiring follow-up.
  • Assist with governance assessments, metadata validation, sensitive data classification activities, governance reporting, and other operational reviews that support enterprise governance capabilities.
  • Support user and access administration activities by validating requests, documenting changes, and ensuring governance processes align with established policies and least-privilege principles.
  • Monitor governance operations and identify recurring issues, trends, or opportunities to improve operational efficiency, standardize work, or enhance the customer experience.
  • Identify repetitive operational activities and recommend opportunities for responsible automation, AI, standardization, or process improvement. Partner with governance and technology team members to test and implement approved enhancements that reduce manual effort and improve service quality.
  • Support Agile delivery activities by assisting with backlog management, sprint planning, meeting facilitation, action tracking, and team coordination.
  • Develop and maintain governance documentation, knowledge articles, templates, and operational resources that support consistent execution across the governance program.
  • Assist with governance initiatives, operational projects, research efforts, testing activities, and special assignments as Enterprise Data Governance capabilities continue to evolve.
  • Continuously develop knowledge across Enterprise Data Governance capabilities, including metadata management, stewardship, access governance, data protection, governance operations, governance metrics, automation, and AI, to build expertise, improve team operations, and support future growth opportunities.

You Have:
  • 1+ years of experience supporting business operations, business analysis, governance, or project coordination
  • Experience coordinating operational activities, maintaining documentation, or supporting business processes
  • Knowledge of Microsoft 365 and collaboration tools such as Jira and Confluence
  • Ability to organize work, manage multiple priorities, and maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with technical and business stakeholders
  • Ability to learn and responsibly experiment with new technologies, governance tools, automation platforms, and AI capabilities
  • HS diploma or GED

Nice If You Have:
  • Experience supporting operational functions such as data governance, compliance, operational risk, or access management
  • Experience with cloud data platforms such as Databricks or Immuta
  • Knowledge of governance frameworks, data management, or continuous improvement practices
  • Knowledge of technologies used to improve business operations such as SQL, Power BI, Power Automate, or AI
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, or Data Analytics

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $55,200.00 to $126,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees. This posting will close within 90 days from the Posting Date.
