Operations Center Analyst / Utility Dispatcher (Entry Level)

Location: Norfolk, VA (100% Onsite)
Work Schedule: Rotating shift work on a 6-week schedule, including weekends and holidays as required
 


Job Summary

Seeking entry-level Operations Analysts to support its Operations Center East in Norfolk, VA. This is a fully onsite role supporting outage and non-outage operations, including monitoring and dispatching trouble calls, analyzing outage data, prioritizing emergency work, and communicating with customers and internal teams.

This role is ideal for candidates with operations center, dispatch, utilities, or 911 call center experience, who can work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment with changing priorities.


Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor, analyze, and dispatch outage and trouble calls in real time

  • Determine outage locations and appropriate response actions

  • Prioritize emergency, outage, and non-outage work for first responders

  • Analyze large data sets from multiple systems to develop action plans

  • Communicate directly with customers to assess and troubleshoot power issues

  • Provide operational support to internal and external stakeholders

  • Accurately document activities and decisions in operational systems

  • Work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays as required


Required Skills & Qualifications
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks end-to-end in a fast-changing environment

  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills under pressure

  • Experience analyzing large data sets from multiple sources

  • Strong customer service skills with hands-on operational support experience

  • Prior dispatch experience (utilities operations centers, 911 centers, or similar)
