Job description

Cost Accountant - Inventory Manager
Location: Louisville, KY
Salary: $70,000- $75,000 (commensurate with experience)
Snelling Staffing is partnering with a successful feed and seed manufacturing company to find a motivated Entry-Level Cost Accountant. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or early-career professional looking to gain hands-on accounting experience in a dynamic manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Collect, analyze, and report cost data related to materials, labor, and overhead.
  • Assist with inventory valuation and conduct regular physical inventory counts.
  • Perform variance analysis to identify differences between standard and actual costs.
  • Prepare cost reports, ad hoc reports, dashboards, and forecasts for management.
  • Collaborate with operations and manufacturing teams to identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Assist with balance sheet account reconciliations.
  • Support accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) functions.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes.
Qualifications & Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.
  • 2-4 years of accounting experience; exposure to light manufacturing environments is a plus.
  • Working toward or interest in obtaining CMA or CPA designation preferred.
  • Advanced Excel skills; familiarity with ERP systems such as Acumatica is a plus.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
