Robert Half is partnering with a growing manufacturing company in the Palmer, Massachusetts area to hire a Sr. Manufacturing Accounting Analyst. This is a high-visibility role supporting manufacturing operations in a complex, project-based environment. Job Summary
The Sr. Manufacturing Accounting Analyst will support financial reporting, cost accounting, inventory analysis, and operational performance. This person will work closely with finance, operations, supply chain, engineering, quality, and program management teams to provide financial insight and decision support.
Responsibilities
- Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities related to inventory, cost of sales, and manufacturing variances
- Perform cost accounting analysis including standard costing, variance analysis, inventory accounting, and work-in-process analysis
- Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reporting schedules
- Oversee inventory controls, cycle counts, and annual physical inventory processes
- Analyze manufacturing costs and operational performance metrics to identify risks and opportunities
- Partner with operations, supply chain, engineering, quality, and program management
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities
- Assist with project and contract financial tracking, including profitability and cost performance
- Provide financial analysis for capital investments, pricing, and cost reduction initiatives
- Support process improvement and operational efficiency initiatives
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, cost accounting standards, and government contracting requirements
- Help maintain inventory integrity, indirect cost allocations, and manufacturing cost structures

- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- 3+ years of accounting, finance, FP& A, or cost accounting experience
- Manufacturing experience required or strong interest in manufacturing finance
- Understanding of cost accounting, inventory, and manufacturing accounting principles
- Experience working in an ERP system
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to build relationships across finance and operations
- Motivated, curious, and eager to learn
Preferred Qualifications
- Cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment
- Knowledge of cost accounting standards and percentage-of-completion accounting
- CPA, CMA, or MBA
- Experience with IFS or a similar ERP system
