Job description

An international plant-based food manufacturing company is seeking an entry-level Maintenance Clerk.

  • $20 -23 /hr. plus full benefits
  • Monday – Friday 08:00 a.m. – 05:00 p.m.
  • Somerset, NJ
  • High school diploma or HVAC school training with at least 1 year of experience in a manufacturing environment required

Requirements of the Entry-level Maintenance Clerk:

  • High school diploma or HVAC school training with at least 1 year of manufacturing experience
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and related software
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Basic maintenance knowledge and understanding of safety rules
  • Mechanical aptitude with ability to troubleshoot equipment
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs

Responsibilities of the Entry-level Maintenance Clerk:

To support maintenance operations, including scheduling repairs, coordinating staff, communicating with vendors, and ensuring safety compliance.

  • Get quotes for parts/services and process POs and payments
  • Keep accurate records of maintenance work and equipment history
  • Verify and organize incoming parts and materials
  • Monitor and restock maintenance inventory
  • Maintain organized parts storage systems
  • Do facility walkthroughs to collect basic operational data
  • Enter and update maintenance data; prepare simple reports
  • Support time and attendance tracking for maintenance staff
  • Maintain inspection, service, and contract documents
  • Coordinate with vendors and contractors for repairs
  • Ensure maintenance activities follow safety rules
  • Communicate effectively with technicians, managers, and vendors
  • Identify and support process improvements
  • Perform other assigned duties
