Industrial Maintenance Trainee Jobs (NOW HIRING)

The Progressive Processing, LLC, facility in Dubuque, Iowa, will be hiring hourly Industrial Maintenance Technican Trainees. Progressive Processing, LLC is a wholly owned subsidiary of Hormel Foods.  The 342,000 sq. ft. plant is home to a variety of Hormel products including bacon toppings, SPAM, and a variety of Hormel Compleats microwave meals. Wages $23.00 - $29.50 per hours

Responsibilities

The primary role is to continuously improve reliability, efficiency and utilization of plant equipment and manufacturing processes.  This is accomplished by utilizing mechanical and electrical expertise in the precise installation, maintenance and repair of plant systems and equipment followed by concise and accurate documentation of all activities and observations.

This position is a developmental role and the individual must fully complete the program to be promoted to a Level 8 Industrial Maintenance Technician.

Selection Criteria:

Qualified personnel, who have expressed interest in participation in the Industrial Maintenance Trainee program, will be selected for participation based on the following criteria, in order to precedence as follows:

• Previous experience - preference will be granted to those who have work experience related to electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and process systems.  Knowledge in these areas will be assessed through a formal test administered by Progressive Processing, LLC (maintenance exam)

• Formal Training - preference will be granted to those based on the number of completed courses within the Industrial Maintenance Technician curriculum or equivalent.

• Job Assignment - preference will be granted to those that are currently assigned to higher skill level positions and have demonstrated successful performance of the job assigned.

• Length of Service - if all other criteria is equal between candidates, preference will be granted to the technician with the greatest length of service.

Qualifications/Requirements:

• Must have a minimum of 6 months of service at Progressive Processing, LLC.

• Candidates will be required to complete the Progressive Processing LLC maintenance exam.

• Most recent Performance review rating is "Meeting Expectations" or above.

• Must not currently be on a Performance Improvement Plan or Attendance Probation during the past 6 months.

• Must not have second or final warnings issued within the past 6 months for work performance.

• Excellent organizational skills and time management skills.

• Verbal and written communication skills necessary including basic computer proficiency.

• Ability to lift 50 lbs. and perform repetitive lifting tasks.

• Ability to move 40 lbs.

• Ability to push/pull 40 lbs.

• Must be able to read, write and speak English.

• Willingness to work in a cold environment (35 to 40 Degrees) and/or warm environment (70-85 degrees).
